You think Bats was the only spy, and he played the long game and held back. If there were two spies, they might run into coordination problems with saboing or not. If there are 2 spies, usually the first person sabos (as Bats said), so if they were both spies, marv would have saboed. I don't think you're wrong that in a marv + bats spy situation, bats always passes the mission. Since marv suggested the mission, he's in charge of saboing or not saboing. Where I think you're wrong is where you assume that marv always sabos when he brings along a scum bats. Admittedly, it's more likely that marv is scum and brought two townies with him (bats and oats are great choices since they're both super bad at defending), and played the long game. I think that's good evidence for marv being scum over marv + bats. But I dont' get how you come to the "therefore, bats is scum and marv isn't". Like, sure, it's kinda a risky move to bring bats with you on the first mission if you're a scum marv and bats is scum. But why does this mean that Bats is scum and not Marv? Since Marv is significantly smarter and a better player than bats, a high level strat like holding your fire on the first mission to gain towncred is something that he's more likely to do than bats. If we go with the "there's one scum" theory, which is a reasonable theory, that theory points to the expert scum-player Marv choosing two weak townies to go with him and blending in for one mission. regardless, we gotta nayvote this mission as it has both Marv and Bats | ||

IMO Alakaslam you should bring me along. I've done a good job of pushing the conversation forward and trying to discern people's alignments in a public way. Although I haven't been perfect, and I've said things that people think are scummy, I haven't been afraid to say those things. I am not some cringing manservant of the "nay-triarchy" who will dumb down his ideas because the naytriachy says they're not allowed. If I have a reason for someone being scum, even if people think it's dumb, I'll share it. | ||

However, if you include yourself on a team, you only have to identify 3 townies, not 4. So if you see 4 players who are sorta-scummy and you're not sure which one of them is the 4th townie, you can just grab the other team and have a team of 4. Or just in general, it's much lower-risk. I don't see why you wouldn't want yourself on a team | ||

I'd like to note that the observation "people don't bring bh on teams" does not equate to "bh is scum". Rather, it equates to "people think bh is scum" which is of course not the same thing at all | ||
