Both were very inactive, but Abenson's case was more extreme compared to Sentinel's; as a player in that game, I remembered that Sentinel was playing, while it almost seemed as though Abenson was not playing at all.

Yes, the rule is subjective, but if the rules are objective there will always be people who just do the bare minimum to get away from a modkill. If we want to fight inactivity we need to use some common sense judgement rather than relying on straight up rules. The OP clearly states punishment for people who try to skit the requirements and both players were warned, so its not like this is out of the blue. Ban for Abenson as opposed to a warning for sentinel because Abenson's case is more clear cut. But if GM decides a ban for both is in order its up to him. For all the legalistic people who are addicted to rigid impersonal (bureaucratic) rules, Abenson posts here and doesn't post again 50 hours later, so that clearly violates the post every 24 hours rule. Sentinel posts here and doesn't post again for 30 hours, thus breaking the same rule. So ya, I can request bans for them based on a strict objective interpretation of the rules. But any sane person can see that its really dumb and to go through extensive lengths to check the exact timings of all the posts. I wouldn't be surprised if you can find other people who didn't post for 24 hours, but I'm not going to look because its just ridiculous. Subjective rules may feel uncomfortable for people, but that's why the system was changed and why GMarshal has the final say. Approved the warning and the ban, I'm generally ok with dropping bans into warnings if the host wants that, because they are in the best position to judge how disruptive a player was to their game. So, 1 game inactivity ban for Abenson 1 game ban for rgTheSchworz for being modkilled for inactivity warning for Sentinel for inactivity. Requesting a warning for Acrofales for posting a fake PM quote from the host. He did break the rules and did get modkilled but the intention wasn't malicious and I'd be willing to give a little leeway towards him as a newbie player.

You just have to sit out 1 game and cannot join any others until that game is over.

And he had the gall to post on other threads on TL, showing that he was indeed around. Dude posted in the Korra thread and the Naruto thread WHILE the game was going on and he was AFK ingame. Thank god Kobee filled in or we would have lost.

Original Message From Curu: Since you've clearly been posting on Teamliquid elsewhere, it's pretty fucking rude not to respond to any PMs asking you if you were still interested in staying in the game. Original Message From gumshoe: Its exam week and I kinda just dropped mafia in a panic, the other posts on tl aren't mine for the record , my brother Itai never bothered making an account so I let him use mine so long as he doesn't post anything stupid. I personally haven't checked tl in the past four days, sorry I just let everything crash in a huff. Regardless not telling you guys I was leaving was completely irresponsible. I'll accept a fair ban. Gl with your game. Original Message From Curu: It's understandable if you have to drop the game but what really miffed me was that both I and other members of your Mafia team PMed you asking if you needed to be replaced and received no answer. In any case good luck with your exams. Original Message From gumshoe: Thanks ( :, I haven't really been on so I wasn't ignoring you, but not letting you guys know I was leaving was bad enough as is. Messages I sent to/from gumshoe. No he didn't ask me for a replacement and also didn't respond to my PMs either (until this one) which I was clearly quite pissed about, as you can tell from my words in my PM. He did reply to that one though and apologized at least. I was going to suggest a multi-game ban for him but he did talk to me after and AFAIK he has not been banned before and is fairly new so I gave some leeway in not requesting a harsher ban.

It seems that the other players all had really thin skin, complained, and you reacted to that rather than to the act itself. Sometimes you have to be a bit aggressive in mafia, and this was on the tame end of that.

A lot of players (myself very much included) become much more vehement than that throughout a game of Mafia.
