Personally I think that in the end it's made our team stronger because now we have more strong riders competing in less events each, even if it leads to less medals overall it leads to more reliable golds. Well I don't really care for the countries but it can screw over individuals. To work so hard for 4 years and then not to be picked and then its like, now what do I do? Its not like that in many other sports =/.

Wow just saw the score which doesn't even do the justice of the comeback people are talking about. must have been an intense game! On August 08 2012 02:47 DwD wrote: Aww so sad wanted to see a final set ![]() As far as I know from American commentators the Chinese team was the team they feared the most and was picked to have the best chance of beating Misty and Kerri

I think it is a pretty legitimate complaint, if you were to do that in athletics or swimming people would go apeshit. US mainly heh.

France couldn't bring some of his best athletes too (particularly in the Women category) and I have no doubt that it was the same for Australia too.

I DON'T CARE FOR THE COUNTRIES. I swear you're just going out of your way to call out british people for whining at every single post. The post was tailored to indiduals regardless of their origin, so yeh it can screw over the french, the brits, the austrialians, any country that has the top few candidates. I was complaining from an indiviuals stand point. You're the 2nd best in your country and you can't compete even though your in the top 3 in the world. It's really unfair towards the individual.

He (the current olympic champion btw) fell backwards and the bar hit him in the side/back of the neck and on the upper part of the leg I think. I'd say it looked worse than it was. edit: But he skipped his 3rd attempt in the first discipline. Let's see if he will be back for the 2nd discipline.

The NOC chooses the athletes, there is often no clear 2nd. Some of them are actually number one and can't be qualified because of the restrictions impose on cycling. It's not unfair towards the individuals, it's just the rules.
