What the gripe with the decision for race 1?
Pendleton didn't line up with the bend properly ala collision. It seemed pretty explicit in the slomos.

I don't know either. She obviously crossed the red line and Anna had much more speed.
If they didn't touch I think Anna goes well in front.
As for who else could have raced it. Trott would have probably won it if she did that instead of the Omnium.
Pendleton is 31 that is really old in Olympics terms.

Obviously she's a legend and the gold in Beijing was fantastic but our team is SO strong that it's slightly annoying only getting a silver :p

TROTT? Really? Trott isn't a sprinter

Yeah no way you can do pursuit and sprint

Because Meares made contact first which pushed Pendleton down the track, when she came back up they both came together. Pendleton was outside of the line but it was caused by Meares

Thats very different from what i observed. I actually at first thought Meares initiated contact too but it only looked that way because i didn't realise contact was made at the bend. Pendleton did not "turn" enough and as such crossed the red line which resulted in the collision.
It was the correct decision.

Even if she did do both she would be destroyed. Pendleton has proven she can beat Meares so she was our best chance. Can't win everything

If there wasn't contact before Pendleton crossed the line then I would agree. Agree to disagree

And now the last race has been spun in the velodrome our gold medals are going to being coming less thick and fast

Shame, that. And a shame Pendleton couldn't pick up another. We were beginning to gain on the US.

Anyone know what else we have now that cycling finished? I know we got 5000m but what else?

25 golds if we get it will not be bad for home Olympics +6 from last time.

Today seems to be the day of great and nail-bitingly close volleyball games. Brasil - Russia, 2-2, 14-14!

Not going to happen, people don't even look at it as a legitimate sport and most people look down on video games.......

Alot. Many boxers are still in it, two Welsh lads looking for Wales' first individual gold amongst others (maybe eight still in it). Shazne Reed is awesome on the BMX. Mo Farah yes, Individual dressage, Hockey and Sailing possibilities. Its not over yet!!

Edit: Forgot Kerri-Anne Payne too and are we any good at Taekwondo? lol

For cycling - Shanaze Reade and Liam Phillips in BMX - Shanaze realistic gold

Oh my god. Brazil defends six match points, then score on their first! Brazil eliminates Russia, previously favourites for the gold medal, after only getting fourth during the group phase and advances to the semis

Hoy was amazing, can't believe he pulled it back and kept going. Nice to see two bronze.

The crowd should boo Pat McQuiad!

£26M well spent on the cycling

4 Olympics, 6 gold medals, 1 silver. Guy just doesn't come 2nd very often.

edit: The BBC are so bitter about the new medal restrictions haha. Personally I think that in the end it's made our team stronger because now we have more strong riders competing in less events each, even if it leads to less medals overall it leads to more reliable golds.
