Aussies even choking in the tennis lawl
Robson and Murray beating Hewitt and Stosur to get to the mixed doubles semis

Japan is really making huge improvements in football, both men's and women's. Would not be surprised if we see them win both tournaments this olympics and then go at least to the quarters in 2014.

mixed double is such a stupid thing, quoting Llodra : the only goal is to terrify the woman and you never ever want to play on the guy...

Also pretty sad to see people actually attempting to imply that broken equipment is the same as throwing matches. I guess bitterness makes people say silly things.
Britain are really strong in Cycling these days. Deal with it. Pretty funny to see Brits defend their athletes without any questions at all. Britain has amazing cyclists, that much is clear. But something questionable happened, and your precious athletes are not exempt from criticism. Deal with it. I don't even have any stake in this. I don't see why I would be bitter towards Britain. You can criticise all you like. However if you make stupid statements you just sound silly. Wow if I say an unspecified stupid thing, I sound silly. Such wisdom.
To clarify, you replied to my post with a stupid reply. I thought you were being silly just to be argumentative. You said Brits defend their athletes without any questions at all. That was obviously a stupid and innacurate generalization, as your reply came just after I had criticised a British Athlete. So you continuing to complain just makes you sound bitter for some reason.

Yeah it's dumb, I'm just amused that they won vs a much stronger pair.

yeah Hewitt Stosur looked really strong on paper especially since Stosur is imo able to deal really well if you want to just play on her.

I responded to your stupid generalization with one of my own. Not everyone who thinks it was a questionable thing is bitter towards Britain, and not everyone that defends it is doing it just because they are British. But the fact that there is British bias here should be obvious enough. So much so that I don't want to continue the discussion, I don't even care that much, and for the record; I applaud them on their record and the best team won.
Hard to have a discussion if any criticism towards a British athelete immediately gets you accused of being a bitter Britain hater. You don't have to agree, but it is ridiculous if you don't even understand why this is seen as questionable by many.

You have finally made me see the error in our ways! Your all right!
The numerous judges most of which were not British and the head of the French cycling team were in fact all wrong and we must rectify this wrong doing!
In response to this we should storm the games take power for ourselves and overturn the decision all in the name of honour and sportsmanship!

So why does England, Scotland etc compete under the flag of the Union Jack and not under their own like in some other sports?

I would have preferred that this debate just died off quickly, honestly. It seems quite clear that both sides of this argument have opposite viewpoints and hardly anything is going to change that, regardless of explanations. Can we just get past this incident which has clearly rotted past interesting into merely boring and keep this thread going?
And to clear things up, I'm not offended, to be honest, if it doesn't involve Australia in any major way, I'm not concerned.
