Yeh because calling adhering to the rules 'borderline cheating' and comparing it to people who match fix makes perfect sense.
If you have a problem with the rules fine. But taking your problem with the rules out on the athletes that follow them is pretty unfair.

Nobody broke a rule in badminton but it's usual double standard all the way. I mean it's not different from the other olympics, being the host is a huge advantage for a lot of things.
Don't see who can threaten the brit for 3rd, does Korea still have some good golds opportunities?

There's a woman from San Marino in the trap shooting final. According to wikipedia, that's the best achievement of ther country at the olympics. She might even win a medal.

I don't know why you guys are arguing over this cycling so much, its done and dusted. Big olympic bosses said its fine, you can't appeal in cycling so even now nothing can be done about it. You're arguing over something that can't be changed.
The french coach doesn't even mind "There was no cheating," he said. "The British team was much stronger than the French team and I congratulate them on their success.

Russia and Australia seem to have their own private silver medal competition going on...

What do you mean nobody broke a rule in badminton? Do you mean the disqualified teams or something else that I've missed?

yes. They tried as hard as they could to throw their match but it's not against the rules. The IOC didn't exclude them it was their own federations.

Unsportsmanlike conduct comes in many flavour and these things are stepping over lines. I do not see what the badminton-players did as any worse than what Hines did. The boat-race seems like an example of a problematic rule with a clear possibility for abuse and the brits gaining a small advantage from it...

Our athletes tend to choke a lot. Maaaany upsets, like that shooting guy who set the NEW WR in qualification round and lost in final round.
At least these are silver medals today, last years we were all bronze. So its kind of improvement.

Pretty funny seeing the whining in this thread too!
Also pretty sad to see people actually attempting to imply that broken equipment is the same as throwing matches. I guess bitterness makes people say silly things.
Britain are really strong in Cycling these days. Deal with it.
Interesting seeing UK in the 3rd place in medals table so far. I will be surprised if they remain there. Russia usually finish in 3rd.

What was the reception like for Dwain Chambers in the 100m? Heard a few brits on here not happy about his participation in the games.
