Do you even remember SKT T1 S? That was pretty much the only way they would win games, off of easyhoon's superior late game with late game champs. Of course, that was back in a patch where stalling out games was a very viable strategy.

Of course, each of the former members of S have improved a ton since then, so I don't really like the "wow how can this iteration of SKT be so strong it's just S with two members changed" comments. Among other things, Bang wasn't exactly reaching Challenger Rank 1 back in those days.

it was the way skt s lost as well. the skt s team actually underperformed their talent, and their passive playstyle was a factor in this.

the weakness of this particular skt team is the early skirmishing of bengi and wolf. they were not very good in the early game. faker is more active and creates more pressure in the early game, and lategame wise ezhoon and faker are about the same in teamfights and overall team play. the fact that ezhoon is pretty much limited to one mode of play and is very good at it does not mean he's that much better than faker at doing that style.

if they pick mid game centric lineups with ezhoon at mid, they would not be at this level of success. but always picking for the late game is just odious and also puts the pressure on a high mistake rate player like marin to hold up the mid game.
