Unfounded matchfixing accusations are not welcome. Refrain from making off-the-wall accusations without concrete evidence. |

But let's wait for Fnatic vs LMQ and All vs C9. Really hyped for these. so you think the gap is wider than 1y ago?
Between the title contending korean teams and all other regions top teams, yeah much wider. But we will never get to see how the top lcs teams fare against middle of the pack ogn teams like cj, kt, sword skt-s because only the 3 topteams qualify for worlds.

I think if any team has a chance to stage an upset, its Alliance

remember that SKT actually lost a game Well Ozone lost in group stages and Najin lost one game in play-offs. I wonder if Alliance will be able to make an upset.
Ozone were too one-meta team, Najin ain't same one trick pony. If watch and Zefa play like they did in Regionals though, i can see White Shield even challenging either Samsung for championship, not speaking about can [A] or C9 take a game from them.
And also possible OMG-NJWS quarterfinal is too sweet to not dream about it.

If Wickd is going to play Rumble, Froggen will most likely lose all will to live and play Karthus.

EU > NA is a joke.
KR >>>>>>>> CN > EU = NA.
If there were no Korean teams at Worlds, then I would not be surprised if any of FNC, TSM, C9, ALL, EDG, OMG, or SHRC won worlds.

I think Alliance is really overhyped. They truly aren't that much better than Fnatic and there is a real possibility that Cloud9 will knock Alliance out of their group. I think Alliance is still favored to make it out of their group since Kabum should be free wins and they probably have an edge over C9 but I don't think they have any shot at making it past quarterfinals. Although assuming they get 2nd in their group their opponent in quarters will be Samsung Blue right? So yeah, Alliance will make it to quarterfinals at best and potentially be upset by Cloud9.

It was discussed here shittons of time. Ceiling for any team but Korean is semifinal, which is based on initial draw.
If Alliance were in group A instead of EDG, could they make semifinals? Right. At least, they could have real shot. If [A]lliance were in Group B, could they win it, if you swap SK with LMQ? Yes, they could. Same story.
Can they make it now? Let's be real, no.
Does it have anything with [A] being best Western team in terms of laning strength/general strategy correlation? Not at all. [A]-Blue might be close on paper, but Samsung Blue is #2 team in late game prowess, so [A] won't be able to touch them there. Can [A]lliance win in lanes? Not really, Wickd/Froggen were never lane dominants like Bjergsen, always aiming for kills, so Blue can easily pick relatively weaker lanes for Acorn/dade, and be okayish, because Deft/Heart won't lose to Tabzz/Nyph, plus with all my love to Shook, he's not Spirit. *insert RealFoxy hype here*
Can [A]lliance win in teamfights? Clearly not, Blue is best teamfighting team on the planet. So, 3-0 is more than likely there with Blue possibly dropping random game when Deft picks Varus.
But in case of Fnatic, [A] are way stronger, there is a reason, why finals weren't even close.

Lmq is NA's hope hilarious

I agree, though there is a small chance they get 1st in the group and this way make it to semis. Najin seems to be the weakest of the korean teams and maybe if they can split the bo2 and C9 taking a game of Najin too, they could make it.
But ye pretty slim chances, we see any western team in the semis now.

I think nobody is hyping All to make it to semis. The hype is about best western team.

Can someone explain the alliance hype train to me? Being the best in EU means almost nothing since it wasn't even that competitive lol. Where is all this hype coming from? Like I see the majority of people thinking they're going to get out of groups and C9 wont, like, in what regard is Alliance better? C9 looks better in almost every way rofl.
|
M-muh Froggen and m-muh superteam basically. m-muh eu mechanics
|
The alliance hype train just comes from the fact that they have 4 really talented players (everyone on their team except wickd) +they won the EU lcs against the EU kings aka Fnatic.
At this point saying "c9 looks better in almost every way rofl" is as silly as saying "alliance looks better in almost every way rofl"
There's just no way to objectively tell. My bet is they have very close levels but C9 is more experienced/have better team strategies while alliance has SLIGHTLY more skilled players. I'd say that gives a slight edge to c9 but they are clearly not "better in almost every way".
And please don't forget that the only reason the NA lcs was competitive this season is 2EU+1KR on TSM and a full chinese team. Without them NA would have been an other C9 going 24-4 or some stupid score like this, a score that has never and will never happen in EU.

and where does alliance have stronger players besides maybe midlane, and even then, Hai doesnt need to win lane to have a major effect on the game.
Balls > Wickd Meteos > Shook and the botlanes are probably equal.

How is alliance overhyped when they got 4 votes for getting out of groups by pro players/analysts

Lol at Alex Ich predictions. Talk about fanboy

TheOddOne playing 1v1 on GPL
He's vs a bronze 3
And he compares the bronze chances of winning vs him like TSM beating SSW lol

Besides MAYBE midlane? Froggen is better than Hai. Period. Even as a delusional NA fanboy, I have to admit that. I would probably agree about the other assessments, though.
