Unfounded matchfixing accusations are not welcome. Refrain from making off-the-wall accusations without concrete evidence.

It's a classic case of confirmation bias. Cool is in World and his team gets farther in LPL than CJ in OGN so people base their opinion on what they've seen recently. It's the same reason everyone is rating Imp and Uzi higher than Deft and Namei because they stomped against easier opponents in the past month.

I guarantee you China is never going to match up to Korea in LoL. The region's entire gimmick is having the largest player base, yet as Apdo has shown, large player base =/= high skill. The idea that talent is created by random selection is yet another one of those 'Asians have innate eSports talent' fooleries that fail to stand up to scrutiny.

How does the Chinese server even work? There are like multiple ones, right? Is there a "best" one?

Its not even about Ambition being some sort of god. Its that Cool is somehow getting this weird level of hype that is not deserved and doesn't make sense.

He is this months Hipster Bjergson (which makes total sense, since there are always a legion of TL hipsters). He has some performances you point to as godly, then you ignore when he is mediocre, and voila! Cool's 22 kill game is like Bjergson vs. LMQ, but then you ignore that he couldn't keep Hai's Zed in check (Cool didn't show up vs. EDG, I don't even remember him hitting a Syndra stun, just generally did weird things on ryze). Same thing with groups: Bjergson did really well as Ori vs. SHR, but sadly let Jeziz live on Ziggs; while Cool did good things against Fnatic, he got smashed by Blue/Dade and split with XWX.

Same player really.

There is one server where most pro/to-be-pro players play on.
The whole argument around Cool reminds me of how people tried to argue that Christiano Ronaldo is not even a top-level player during the World Cup. I feel like Riot's strategy of minimizing international competition is quite successful tbh. Each player only plays several international games a year and you can draw any conclusion you like based on them.

This analogy makes no sense because the Ronaldo question was, "Will he be healthy enough to play like the 2nd best player in the World?"/"Can he carry Portugal if healthy?"

These are more akin to the questions being raised about Dade pre-Worlds, "Will he choke?"/"Can he win his first worlds?"

The correct analogy would be Fred, Oscar, Marcelo and David Luiz.

or stupid Higuaín.

Cool feels pretty generic to me tbh. Outside of misaya's TF, chinese midlaners have been rather faceless to me. Large champ pools that they're all mechanically proficient at, doesn't really screw with their ADC's ability to carry, and just plays the game out with Chinese roam squad strat.

I would argue that people rate Imp and Uzi higher because they're more known names than Deft and Namei to people who don't watch their respective scenes, and therefore the unacquainted audiences pay more heed to players they know.

That also is a playstyle thing. If 2 players are both 75/100, but one goes from 50 to 100 and the other goes from 70 to 80, people will focus on the 100 games more. Even if its the 50-100 guy vs. a guy who is 75-85 (aka better on average) they will still focus on the "potential" of the higher variance player. Its like John Daly in golf, or Joe Flacco in football.

There's literally like 20. On average the servers are worse than NA, very easy to get to challenger just because of server population. There's the big one, but as far as I know all the pros actually play on KR when they're serious. I've heard this server is on par with NA, but I haven't played on NA for so long I couldn't confirm that for you.

The chinese servers are so toxic they disabled allchat completely. I seriously can't find the option to turn it on at all. And then there's stuff like you have to pay to get rune pages, and also the IP costs of champs are on average higher too
