Ozone will not lose to Frost. Period.

Well with recent results, it makes me extremely sad that one of SKT, KTB and Ozone won't make it for sure. All three teams have been looking really strong. Dunno how mentally stable ozone is after that loss though, and if it comes down to another series between them and SKT, I wouldn't bet on Ozone.

Btw, does anyone know something about the KR regionals? Will it be a bigger event at a venue or will they do it at Yongsan?

If KTB wins Champions, they will tie Sword in terms of points. Who gets the quarterfinals seed then?

Probably a tie breaker to decide it. If they went on strength of results, it would be KTB I think.

In any case of tie, I believe they said they will have to play an extra game

Sword being directly seeded into quarterfinals is pretty bullshit. Literally the only thing they've done is win NLB and OGN champions 2 seasons ago. Outside of that they've pretty much been highly mediocre the rest of the time, and even finishing 1st in NLB is essentially the same as finishing 5th.
|
Yes it's a shame, however I doubt that the other 2 teams that qualify will have any trouble getting through the group stage.
|
I'd rather see Sword playing through group stages though as a benchmark team.
|
With all this hate against Sword, I guess everyone will be cheering for KTB in the upcoming finals, so that at least there's a tiebreaker game between Sword and KTB. If Sword is as mediocre as everyone says, KTB will win that and be awarded a bye and Sword will have to play through group stage in the Worlds. As KTB fan, that sounds good to me!
|
NO I'm rooting for Skt1 because faker op and afaik they need the win to make it into regionals. I couldn't care less if sword gets the bye cause one of ktb and/or skt1/ozone will make it to the finals anyway

Hmmm. After watching this seasons OGN i find that I really can't watch the LCS any more. After following professional BW since 2001/2 and a couple of years of SC2, you get so accustomed to absolute crisp execution, flawless strategy and so on. When I try to watch the EU LCS now, I just see so many sub-optimal plays (in my newb understanding of this game that is) that I really cant finish a game any more. For instance I tried to watch gamescom G1 of GMB vs. EG today. GMB had dual globals (shen + karth) and a lee sin that is an amazing gap closer, and still there was only one ult (defensive shen ult) in the first 13 minutes of the game. Watching it feels like so much potential going to waste and so few "free" advantages unused when you compare it to the 5-6 best korean teams. The strategy of pick/ban and making the team comp work for you, just seems like something they can only do properly in korea.
Clearly, it isnt as black and white as this, but I just feel the difference in understanding and level of play makes the EU/NA so unappealing.
Anyone else experiencing the same "problem"?

Anyone else experiencing the same "problem"? It's like college vs pro. There's still plenty to like about college football/basketball, even when technically pros are playing at a higher level.

For me it's the same, although I watch handpicked games of the teams I really root for in NA/EU. Yet in the KR scene I absolutely try to absorb every drop of content that I can get. The thing that needs to be noted here though, is that from my experience it seems much worse and gets much more apparent to the somewhat knowledgeable spectator in a team game than it might be in a 1v1 game when your execution is laking, as long as you're still facing an opponent of roughly your level of play. It's hard to explain, but because the crisp execution in LoL relies very heavily on extremely crisp coordination aswell, a mediocre execution will look much worse than it actually is IMO. So, these NA/EU teams might look really bad if you compare them to the top Koreans, but they're still really fucking good nonetheless, it's just that they pale so greatly in comparison.
