When I try to watch the EU LCS now, I just see so many sub-optimal plays (in my newb understanding of this game that is) that I really cant finish a game any more. For instance I tried to watch gamescom G1 of GMB vs. EG today. GMB had dual globals (shen + karth) and a lee sin that is an amazing gap closer, and still there was only one ult (defensive shen ult) in the first 13 minutes of the game. Watching it feels like so much potential going to waste and so few "free" advantages unused when you compare it to the 5-6 best korean teams. The strategy of pick/ban and making the team comp work for you, just seems like something they can only do properly in korea.
Clearly, it isnt as black and white as this, but I just feel the difference in understanding and level of play makes the EU/NA so unappealing.
Anyone else experiencing the same "problem"? It's like college vs pro. There's still plenty to like about college football/basketball, even when technically pros are playing at a higher level. It's about passion! ...and the throws... Well you watch LPL for the throws, and the Sona ulti's.

It's about passion! ...and the throws... I think lots of misplays/bad calls occur in both LCS and OGN, but NA/EU teams aren't nearly as good as capitalizing on their opponents' mistakes. Many times they won't even recognize that they had an opportunity to take control of the game. LCS games often feature both teams making tons of mistakes until mid/late-game while Korean teams will really snowball off of a single fight/objective. This was pretty apparent in the SKT/Ozone semifinal, g1 a single bad dragon contest without ults basically cost SKT the game, and g2 a good condemn for an early ace lost it for Ozone. Neither region is playing anywhere near optimally currently, but OGN teams sure know how to seize small advantages and close out games much better.

Finals are on August 31, and start one hour earlier. Which basically translates to the opening ceremony will take more than an hour, and so they will be right on track for the game starting at or around the same time.
