My guess?

Can't take lane EXP/CS, first blood the enemy jungler...go. Can't fall behind X levels. Also, taking Dragon solo will give you the win. Also, solo Baron will grant your All-Stars team an automatic bye.

Basically Nunu will be numba 1 pick. People will learn to fear jungle Satan.

According to NA All-Star SOTL it's really easy to cheese people on the map they made for All-Stars. Dunno if true or not though.

I'd be really happy if NA went deep or won this event. For so many reasons. Not just because NA #1 but also because it'd feel really good to shut up the circle jerk that believes that NA's talent is worse than every other region.

However if I was betting on this I'd probably end up putting my money on China to win it all. Not only do they have a ton of talent but they have home field advantage and I feel like Misaya and WeiXiao have a lot of prove after some bad LPL performances recently. I'd probably be more okay with China beating NA if it was AP mid god Zz1tai instead of Misaya though.

but NA is behind every other region... maybe not as behind as people suggest, but it's definitely one of the weaker region.
Not gunna stop me from cheering on Doubleliftuuu, but reality is reality.

Yes, NA is behind. But most likely not because they lack talent. People treat NA like it's a scene that doesn't work as hard (as the Asians at least), doesn't train properly, and that has much less talent.

I think the main reason the NA scene (and let's be honest the EU scene too) is behind the Koreans and Chinese is exactly the same reason westerners were behind Koreans in Brood War. Lack of an efficient practice regime and terrible structure. Look at how strong Curse looked after LiQuid just copy/pasted the Asian team model.

Top NA players like Doublelift, saint, or Dyrus could be just as strong as their counter parts if given a similar environment. I think this weekend will help prove that talent wise NA isn't that far behind (on things like training regime, structure, and teamwork sure they're pretty far behind).

It just gets annoying in LR threads a lot of time where there's a sloppy game and everyone goes "HERP DERP NA IS TERRIBLE!" Believe me, I've seen some sloppy games in OGN too. I realize NA is worse but everyone seems to feel the need to point it out every five minutes.

i agree, we were watching some OGN last night and asian teams make plenty of mistakes. their big plays are bigger but their mistakes are definitely present. i have high hopes for USA

Aside from the talent thing, it's true that NA doesn't train as hard and as structured as Asians. The sad thing is that they know it, but are not likely to improve how they train because of a variety of reasons (some dont believe in the Asian system, some think what they're doing is good enough, some dont care, some dont have the money to, etc).

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Curse doesn't do anything that different from other teams. They were successful in the beginning because jungle champs were buffed to fit Saint's playstyle.

Yeah I would actually agree with anyone who said that NA teams don't practice as hard or don't practice properly. I don't think NA has any less talent than other regions (except probably mid lane where I really can't name anyone that would do well against top EU, KR, or CN mids).

I assumed that Curse's team ran similar to how LiQuid runs the All-Star team. As in, a set schedule and an analyst that works for the team. I also realize that they probably didn't practice a ton together but Curse had one of the only "B-teams" in NA and frankly Curse Academy was one of the strongest amateur teams from what I could tell. If that's untrue then I apologize for speaking out of turn but I'm fairly confident that during Spring split no one else had a game analyst or a manager keeping their players on any kind of real schedule (other than "these are the times we have scrims and these are the times you have to stream").

edit:
I also realize that part of the purpose behind Curse Academy, from what I understood, was to develop the talent Curse already had in Pobelter and Rhux while picking up Dominate. Combine the fact that the team was unable to qualify for LCS and it's also a pretty cheap team to maintain.

Riot just released info on the Magma Chamber: http://na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=3470720
It seems like this is the stage for the skill competitions.

The schedule for Curse is more or less whenever scrims can be found (also I made the set schedule for NA bootcamp). And you're also overstating my role with Curse. I work from home and send Liquid scouting reports on other LCS teams (which I doubt is read in much detail). I'm not trying to talk down on Curse, but some of the hype around Curse and Liquid is getting out of hand.

The skills competitions looks really fun. I hope they bring it along other tournaments as well. I would love to see that stuff in grand finals as starting events for every tournament. Even if the teams participating(finals) don't send any players into it, I would still enjoy seeing the eliminated teams/players showcase their skill. I think it builds a lot more hype

DUMBEST. IDEA. EVER.

Riot takes mid lane, give it a paint job, cut rest of the game out and call it a map for 1v1? This does nothing for the 1v1/2v2 exhibitions EXCEPT for midlane 1v1?

If we want to see a top lane and bot lane duel, we want to see it happen in a map that looks like top lane and bot lane. What is the point of doing it on a map that looks like midlane? There is a reason why certain champions are better at soloing midlane and some are better at soloing top. The reason is the terrain difference and position on the map. If you take top lane and bot lane and put it in a map that looks like midlane, you won't get a real toplane/botlane duel. You'll get a queer meta where people pick champions that is designed more for midlane.

And at the end of the day, our only doubt was how the junglers will be "dueling." If anything, we needed a map specifically made to test how a jungler is better than another jungler. This doesn't answer it at all.

The bottom line is, this is just a abridged Summoner's Rift midlane with extra triggers to kill the nexus. Why did you waste your time on this Riot? Why?

And how exactly does 1v1 mid lane vs 1v1 top lane differ exactly?
Only thing I can think of is the brush and that wasn't utilized much at all in the 1v1 Riven tournament iirc.
