Kind of surprising to see pro players make blatant mathematical build mistakes like that. I thought atk speed had diminishing return already, how can there be a hard cap?

I think curse did the right thing early, using the fact that saint and voy could exert dominance over sid and xmithie. Didn't get far enough ahead though

Teenager's balls specifically, which explains why they sometimes make him go full retard.

But in professional play knowing how to position yourself to get the most out of your damage is really crucial. Zuna is actively looking for target to hit when being safe himself. Cop is like A move the closest target and thats it. To be fair zuna's balls have sometimes gotten him killed but cop really does need to be more ambitous especially on a late game trist you can't just be a pussy about it when you're really the team's best shot at carrying.

Trist reaches it with BotRK and PD already.
The issue is that Nasus wither makes that all meaningless, and Zephyr was a response to try and mitigate the amount of AS slows that Nasus puts out.

Kind of surprising to see pro players make blatant mathematical build mistakes like that. gotta take frozen heart into consideration.
Even counting frozen heart his Zephyr was only giving him 20% aspd (same as boots were), and counting Jarvans flag buff the Zephyr wasn't giving any aspd at all.

Hmm, If retire from pro-LOL, Megazero could have a look into voice-acting lol.

I think he primarily wanted the tenacity because of wither.

lol, need to ban out bloodwaters sona. he single handidly won that one for vulcan.

There's no (soft) cap, and by "diminishing returns" it means that 20% AS if relatively stronger the less levels and items you have (Zerkers are really nice early on when you're like level 5 and have no AS yet from levels, but when you're level 18 they represent a largely smaller % of your total AS).

I reach it all the time on Trist. It's the first or second sentence on your link, actually.
EDIT: second.
Attack speed caps at 2.5 attacks per second, or 1 attack every two fifths of a second.
EDITEDIT: Just saw your edit. That is correct :s

Selling the boots for the Zephyr makes sense, the bad item is the Phantom Dancer. Trist should be getting a Ghostblade or a Shiv or a BT instead. PD just mathematically not a good item on her if you're getting BotRK.

Yeah I edited, I meant that it's not like MS where above a certain threshold further gains get reduced, it's below 2.5 or not.

I like how the link you gave says that there is a 2.5 attack speed cap in the second sentence.

I think these guys need to sit down and do some math anyway, seeing genja go double BT on varus was just cringeworthy.

He has a good Thresh too.
I think we all need to remember Rhux constantly hooking only Xmithie and Saint deciding "yes, I want to initiate on this."

I like how the link you gave says that there is a 2.5 attack speed cap in the second sentence. He meant soft cap (like MS which makes additional MS after certain points worth less and less). There's just diminishing returns on AS as you level (since levels give %AS not base AS), and the more %AS you have, the less more is worth. Multiplicative scaling on autoattacks mang.
