Laughing my fucking ass right now haha, went to sleep yesterday exactly thinking: " Hmm if they agree to split the prizemoney maybe they agreed who'd win for seedings as well."

Normally there's no post discussion in LoL-Event Threads but this unloaded 20pages of new e-drama discussion yay ^^

Let's just wait for further statements from Dig's, Riot's and MLG's side.

Funny thing is nobody probably would have noticed probably if they didnt ARAM g1.

MLG said they had witnesses but can they actually show us the witnesses? And perhaps the other evidence from their investigation that they claim to have done.

I'm sure people would've assumed the discussion done in public was just simply in a joking manner then.

I sorta feel like people knew and assumed they were kidding until the ARAM came out of nowhere G1.

I doubt more relevant information will be revealed. All parties involved will want to bury this as fast as possible. As long as Riot doesn't push for a ban, curse and dig won't challenge this imho. This looks to me like a warning shot from MLG/Riot. To make sure that the teams know that everything that can be interpreted as match fixing will be punished.
They might be a bit overzealous here, but in the end none of us know what MLG/Riot saw/heard at the event. I'm sure though that they didn't make this step lightly as they have nothing to really gain from this.

I was thinking that maybe mlg made the stuff up about curse and dig splitting money, in response to the ARAM. Because the ARAM might have been an embarrassment for mlg and they did not want it to happen again. And since there is no rule against ARAM, the only way to set an example is to make it up. Just my speculation.

The reason why the didn't get their prize money was because of collusion, which does not necessarily mean prize splitting. Collusion is just discussing what's going to happen in the match, and because they played an ARAM, as it's REALLY hard for both teams to just randomly do aram w/o prior agreement to the rules of ARAM, it would be sufficient evidence for collusion.

i'm going to have to agree. As much as i'd like to see the results stand (as the matches afterwards were quite good to watch), I don't think it's going to be good for anyone to have a precedent like this going unpunished. As much fun as I had watching the aram and the matches afterward, you also have to respect the authority's decision to punish any under-the-table planning of tournament games by the players, regardless of how benign, as it's really not their place to do so. I really do hope that dig/crs don't get punished any further than this though. If I was in charge, I'd probably just give them a warning and make an official statement saying it isn't condoned or w/e and to expect more severe punishment in any future cases, and not go as far as to dq them, but I suppose I'm not in charge am I

First game was aram , watching that made me very sad. eSports is sposed to grow, im not sure on the exact amount but they lost about half their viewers on the main stream during that game. Well sad.

Who actually won in the end, I went to bed when curse took game 3

If they were trying to fix matches or split money or anything, why would they play an ARAM? They would obviously try to make everything look as normal as possible.
If you have a good reason to disagree with the above, please tell me. Thank you.

I dunno if we were watching the same stream but the viewers went up during the ARAM. The live crowd was really excited by it. Deman was excited by. Rioters tweeted about it. Most of the people on reddit were fine with it (as in, posts about it being cool or fun to see were largely upvoted while posts about it being unprofessional were largely downvoted).

I think the majority of the LoL community was okay with them playing an ARAM.

Also Curse ended up winning after taking three games in a row. They played really well and while I can't say anything about prize splitting it did not look like match fixing at all to me.

An important point to take note of for those saying that splitting the prize pool isn't a big deal: without any money on the line Dignitas would have an incentive to lose, since this would give them a more favourable matchup in the next tournament due to how the circuit points turn out. Thus an agreement to split the money would be virtually the same as matchfixing anyway (they might still give their best out of pride but it is certainly unlikely). It would be less problematic, (though still very wrong in my opinion), if both teams had the same level of incentive to win in the final with a split pool.

Think it was the blue stream? When i logged on during pregame there were more viewers. Could have been me looking at the wrong thing tho, i dont like own3d streams usually.

Well the blue stream wasn't even the main stream for the finals.

How do you figure that? If they won the match they would have ended up 2nd seed and had a first round match vs LgN, if they lost they would have a first round matchup at regionals vs TD (a much more consistant top 5 placing team than LgN). Scarra has said in interviews before that TD's playstyle is hard for them to handle; If the match was actually fixed (which i doubt), it wouldn't make sense for dignitas to take a loss like they did.

How exactly? By losing they end up facing TD, and by winning they would end up facing LgN I believe (anyone can confirm if i'm correct?), so your whole point is based on the fact that TD is easier to beat than LgN? Did you even watch the tourny? Or the Dig vs TD games?

EDIT: wow sniped hard by Mr. ChaosShadow!
