Prior to that, its often important to think about the pros and cons of the situation. Killing a tower does give you gold and a bit of map control, but its a double edged sword. A smart lane opponent will keep the wave as close to the second tower as possible, meaning that if you want to farm, you are going to have to extend very far into enemy territory. It shortens the gank distance from mid and from the jungle. This is exactly what we saw in the CRS vs Sypher game. Jax was killing nasus incredibly easily. By taking the top tower down, he let nasus farm within the relative saftey of his second tower. This meant that in order to farm, pobelter had to go into enemy territory, making aggression and farming much more risky. So while nasus was free to farm, jax had to roam around not actually doing anything helpful for his team. When he DID go top, GP had an easy time of walking from his wolves to get him off the creep wave while nasus farmed. So at the end of the game nasus was carrying with super amounts of farm, while Jax was failing miserably. Had Jax kept the tower up, he had the ability to farm both the creeps and nasus in the relative safety of top lane, rather than the enemy jungle. Nasus would have had nowhere to run to, and he likely would have been completely shut down. | ||

Further, they ended the lane phase quickly by killing the tower, which is exactly what you want vs Nasus. The team, however, failed to actually do anything with that and sat back passively and did nothing while letting Nasus afk farm top. Their problem was not that they killed the tower. | ||

I don't see how Jax could ever run away from Wither though so dying to ganks would be somewhat inevitable. There are other objectives on the map you can contest though. | ||

Unless they just skip showing game 3 and start showing SK vs CLG instead 0.0 its probably what they just estimate that the next semi finals will go for. if it goes for 1 hour 20 minutes each game with like 20 minutes in-between thats over 4 and a half hours of content to go though before they get to the end. | ||

Done properly, you've got wards covering any gank angle, plus flash and leap to minions or wards. I'm going to just cut off the inevitable response of "but Nasus had TP, it wouldn't be 5v4" because it's irrelevant. If you're actually forcing Nasus to TP in, he isn't farming his way back into the game. They had him 0/4 and underfarmed in lane -- they needed to force fights and they didn't. | ||

Taking a tower CAN be a good way to end the laning phase. However, If you take a tower at level 1, you are still going to have to go back to lanes simply because you cant do baron at level 1 with dorans blades. Now, it wasnt level 1, but CRS was to underfarmed to properly play out a 5v4 scenario on the rest of the map while nasus farmed. And even if Jax wards blue and river, all of the ganks came from wolves, which wouldnt have been warded, and the run distance for someone to get to safety was immense, especially when factoring in GP and Nasus slows. There is a reason that when you watch scrims you hear people ask if they should take towers when they have the option too. It isnt always the best decision simply because not only does that 1 person have to be ready, the rest of the team does as well. | ||
