And I am thinking of conducting research on support Viktor. I had to play it once (gave mid to the troll), I went for the Death augment as Gravity gives you CDR (which s2 support itemization gave in ample amounts), mp5 (hi chalice... which is even better in s3 with crucible) and range on W. Since it is your only peeling/defensive tool, and that it isn't instant, having more range doesn't do much really. I think it's better to keep it and drop on top of your carries/behind their divers to split the enemy team, and good positioning should be enough to allow you to do that.
Unless you play AP (and then you're just some sort of Nidalee with a slow and a delayed stun and less range... ), your spells won't hurt too much so you're better off using him as poke rather than burst. It also suits his W since it's good at zoning/disengaging/stalling initiations. I also felt really weak in lane, but the enemy support was Taric so even though my W could stop hit from reaching my carry, if a stun went off the AD would still be able to deal damage (tho potentially getting stunned and riposted upon for it). As your range outside of E is fairly limited, had I been stunned instead Id have been a squishy support with no escapes or heals getting bursted for free (when you get cc'd, the shield on Q won't do much, especially since you're better off maxing E).
I don't remember the masteries (was s2 anyway) nor the runes, but I maxed E>W>Q. I pondered about maxing W first but since it doesn't really improve the utility I went the poke route (in this playstyle, you're way worse than Lulu who has her poke and her slow on the same skill, with a lower, flat cooldown, better base damage and a tinier mana cost).
Feel free to test stuff but I think he'd get demolished in lane by other, superior poke supports (Lulu, Zyra, probably Sona since her W will outlast your mana pool while reducing your poke damage) and Leona as she has the range to bypass Gravity Field with her E, and her combo is short enough that she'll use it before the stuns applies (if you're strong enough you could use W to zone the carry and focus on Leona, but she's inately stronger than you so in that case you outplayed the enemy lane earlier anyway). Alistar on the other hand has less range on Headbutt than the cast range of W, so unless he burns Flash, and if you use the cast range+device radius well, you should be able to keep him at bay. Not sure how mana-efficiency compares. Taric is dangerous and bursty enough to kill. Considering his mana costs Soraka probably outsustains him. Blitzcrank could be manageable (Gravity Field's cooldown is close to Overdrive and the slow can help prevent him from reaching you or your carry, and Viktor's no worse than any other about the grab), and I have no idea about Janna, Fiddle (maybe he can punish his low range and long cooldowns) or other supports. He also has mediocre gank assist.
That's my experience and what I deduced from my game, anyway (we won the lane because the Taric was awful but it didn't feel less dangerous every time he lost an opportunity).

anyone think of stinger first kog maw or vayne? only 1200g for 40% as and 10%cdr for better uptime on kogs w or a clutch tumble or condemn for vayne.
Just leave it like that for a long time and get like zerkers/zeal after it. hard for me to play different roles when it seems that no one else knows how to play support on yoloq.

Stinger first is awkward.
Zephyr is a really good, cost-efficient attack speed source. I've been trying to think of a way to make it work using a non-Aspd crit source. The problem is that while there are non-Aspd crit sources, they don't give ENOUGH crit. PD gives a LOT of crit. Shiv gives less crit, but still quite a bit. None of the non-Aspd crit sources give comparable crit--to the point that you'd need two of them to match up to PD crit.

Makes sense thanks but do you think the cdr on stinger makes up for the distance between getting the zeal and getting the pd?
I think it would make a good third defensive/offensive item alongside pd ie boots mogs ga. I'll try it out in my games this next week and see what happenes.

Autoattacking AoE team
Ezreal/Shaco/Gangplank/mid???/Blitz (per saluki's post)
Core items for Ez/Shaco/GP/Blitz: Statikk Shiv, IBG, Hydra Cant use Hydra on Ez, so maybe it would be more interesting to choose someone who could used Hurricane, shiv, IBG to some effect, I'm thinking Varus... His attack range is fairly long so applying IBG with an auto wouldnt be unreasonable. You could even shift Ez to mid so you still have his crazy range to apply another IBG with and keep the team AS buff... Other mid options - put GP into mid, pick a new top. Choose a mage that supports an auto attack team well (Nidalee has a strong AS buff on her heal, and hitting spears with that much IBG would be easier). Having a lulu on that team comp would be kinda cool, maybe she could mid.. Or blitz mid, and let her support.
pretty sure he was thinking ez for the ibg and shiv its pretty good on ez i played it yesterday also seen this in qualifers 1 game after i had played it.
the mid could be khazix i usually go bt bc ibg then situational but could defo try hydra bc ibg shiv on him could be amazingly fun

Ah, that's a good point, but the permaslow aoe comp with aoe damage is basically what I'm going for. Maybe kass mid with IBG Hydra Shiv and totally fuck the meta

Holy shit I'm a genius IT SOUNDS FUN

Dude, IBG Tank Kass is really fun to play

less talking more doing aoe slow comp lets go

ALSO LET'S DO A DEMACIA TEAM

Yo what do you guys think about support malz? Skills are strong with just levels due to base CC and you can splitpush lanes for farm lategame with visions and the voidling.
|
Mid Amumu. Push and roam and gank meta ez pz for the mummy, early levels would suck though. But he's sick good when farmed.

I'm actually a huge fan of leona solo lane, with a strong ganking jungler. Like Shaco jungle + leona top lane, or lee sin jungle + leona top. I do this with my friend when we duo queue, it completely shuts down a lane.

But but, there is no EUW division

I wouldn't really say Malz has a lot of CC- he has his ult and a really hard to hit silence. You can only reliably hit people with call of the void if you have Rylai's and they have already been slowed by your E. There's no way you would ever be able to afford Rylai's in a reasonable time frame as a support, so his ult would have to provide a decisive advantage for him to be worthwhile. My other big concern would be his mana costs are skyhigh, Usually doesn't matter if you have blue, but I could see it being a bit more of an issue as a support.
You can control Malz's voidlings so they don't push the lane, so that's not a problem. However, good luck silencing them without pushing the wave. I could potentially see it being strong against supports who don't have a stun, silence or knockup. So that leaves Karma, Lux, and Nidalee? xD
I guess you could just kill their support repeatedly.
