If they have reavers in this not sure why they can't trial them instead of the disruptor.

After watching the trailer I still have no idea what it is
Looks actually to be single-hero gameplay to me? All the units you see seem to be spawned by skills

They seem to be adding lots of support powers too, though I think it's just the Kerrigan commander that can be played as a hero.

There are a lot of elements from all three campaigns like different tech paths from WoL for Terran, controlling Kerrigan from HotS for Zerg and the powers of Spear of Adun from LotV for Protoss. Every single power and special unit you see in that trailer are available in the campaign as well.

What exactly do you do? What is the point of this mode?
Do you play against real people or the computer?
We're a few months from release, and we basically still know nothing about this mode.

So there's a write up on the website: http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/blog/19829510/legacy-of-the-void-allied-commanders-preview-8-5-2015
I still don't get the point of this mode. It seems like a more fun variant of the challenge missions in WoL. The whole point of multiplayer is to create replayability with player vs player. Each game is different. Why would anyone want to play against the AI in allied commander after they've done it once for the novelty. With the campaign, there's a story. But with allied commanders, there isn't, so what's the draw? How can this be replayable? I don't see how it can be.

So without breaking any rules here -
Allied Commanders is reeeally fun. As someone who is obviously not just le casual or whatever, having something you can actually grind can be really enjoyable. Unlocking new units and abilities is definitely worthwhile cuz the skills are really legit, and the highest difficult is fairly rewarding (we knocked it out of the park, some of the Koreans had trouble with it huehue).
The campaigns in SC2 have been really easy, solo, and barely replayable. Allied Commanders can be difficult, fun with a friend, and totally fun to grind.

I guess the carrot on the stick is the unlocking new units and the like, I imagine it to be a well polished co-op map that fun to play with friends and stuff, .

To be honest I don't think that Reavers would work at all in SC2 with how slow they are and how easy it is to snipe Warp Prisms transporting them with the Vikings/Blink Stalkers/Vipers/Corruptors/whatever, but I could be wrong.

Woah hold on there you enthusiasthic...... person. Remember that Blizzard time is not real time so spring is your best bet.

I wonder if there will be mod support for this. Would make sense to let the community make more missions. That would basically add infinite replayability. Maybe with an approval system? So all the maps have a certain standard. I mean, I don't really know if Blizzard wants to go that road with this gamemode, but the idea sounds very appealing to me.

oy this looks fun. The single player department definitely had lots and lots of extra time on their hand lol.

actually this looks really fun, if it is challenging enough it could be really awesome to play! This is a bit like RPG meets with RTS with the leveling system and I guess you can optimise "builds" like a moba to get through a stage?
I always wish there were some sort of 3v3 in a RTS objective based game. sort of like attacker vs defender

It's PvE for Starcraft 2. Not that hard to grasp. I only wish Zerg got a Zerg commander. Abathur or Zagara would have been cool.

And now we have Lurkers in Lotv, the Reaver is an iconic unit that creates dynamic interactions and would see regular play. Warp prim speed is faster than all those units so I think it would be viable, numbers tweaked and all that.

Nice to see Protoss's iconic character shifting to Artanis from Zeratul. Always thought it was weird Zeratul was the one repping Protoss (for example the Race splash image when you queue up for ladder used to be Marine, Hydralisk, or... Zertaul? Not a zealot?)
