that would be fine if keystones brought something interesting to the game but the majority just add generic power. The few well designed ones are ...well nevermind there's none.

placed p1 in flex 3s, flex 5s, soloq d5 spent ~20 games getting d5 in 3s and gonna get d5 in 5s after finals just to maintain triple diamond throughout the season lol

First one was my team was scion and enemy team was lux. We all just played safe in lane, avoided feeding and built MR and health. By midgame we were all unkillable unless focused 3v1 and we just grouped and knocked down towers while spells bounced off. The other notable game, my team was Jihn and they were Kat. Lane phase was ok, everyone played safe enouph. Some lanes gave up a few kills, but no one was really feeding. However late game the Kats all scaled to where any 2 of the 5 could jump in and wipe out all five members of my team. And they could do that while split pushing the other two lane. Any suggestions for how the disadvantaged teams could have built to avoid this, or was the game over in champ select?

If you're a burst damage mage, you'd do well to let 1 or 2 go ad. If you're jhin vs kat.. i'd suggest 1 or 2 ad/mr with 1 armor shredder and rest tank/mr and then you just group as 5

I mean, his ap ratio on ult is 100%.. wouldn't there be some kind of solution there? by being a lot better than the olafs and hoping that the olafs are bad the ults useless only damages 1 person per box and the cc is irrelevant. it's weaker than getting hit by a syndra q and w (without stun and ult) and that is basically your 'burst' on a single target which you don't even really get to choose if it's a teamfight.

Well then I guess it's clear. given same gold and post level 6? yeah I don't think theres any way a thresh can outdamage an olaf lol. of course given that both are building like a normal person would and play is reasonable/evenly skilled (ex. no thresh with scripts and perfect axe dodging/kiting). I'd love to hear an argument for it though. I've won retarded matchups in the past in one for all but it was mainly due to the enemy being completely terrible and outclassed

One argument that I think IS good, though, is that it's way easier to build for an Olaf that does damage than it is to build for a Thresh that does damage. I think if both get 2-3 damage items, it might become a sustain war. I have no clue how it plays out if either go for tank or either go for full damage. I do think if Thresh goes full tank he'll always lose.

If Olaf goes tankmode he does almost no damage, if he goes glass cannon, he can get bursted by the ults/flay bonus damage. But I'm just ballparking it here, I'm too lazy for doing an entire batch of calculations and stats accounting for lvl 6 stats and possible gold so we can have an estimation of what a fight might look like. I think if Olaf goes tank all he needs is a cleaver. Shreds armor for all the other olafs and he does a decent number of true damage anyways. He will virtually take 0 damage from Thresh and will also be able to outsustain from innate lifesteal. Tank is the way to go, I would think going glass cannon would help the Threshes. Splitpush wise no one would be able to stop an Olaf 1v1 and it would be very hard to pick one off due to Ragnarok. Lategame seems terrible for Thresh and the only conceivable way I see of winning is the Threshes outplaying early hard and making good rotations before the Olafs come online. But if we're assuming equal skill here, that is highly unlikely to happen. The further the game goes the worse it gets for the Threshes. Damage mix doesn't even matter because Thresh damage is so low in the first place. They do not have the DPS nor burst. Armor won't even matter much with multiple cleavers and true damage E not to mention in tank vs tank Olaf straight wins vs Thresh anyways. Just to make it clear, I'll clarify my stance. I think in an equal skill matchup from anywhere from bronze to diamond level, olafs will win like 90+% of the time with accounting for some off games. If you still disagree I'll just agree to disagree because I think I explained my reasoning enough lol. Oh and I would say that just going an AD thresh build would generally be best (maybe 1 tanker) to 'cheese' out a win. Win early, keep lanes shoved, go for a group push and try to push down towers and/or get a pick with mass hooks and burning ragnarok. Snowball off tower/gold advantage and continue shoving lanes quick and grouping. There would be some opportunities for Olafs to make dumbass engages under pressure or simply lose towers. Still hard tho. AP/tank thresh would not be advisable.
