Malz is just invulnerable and then again 18-6 seconds later. Malz doesn't have a choice about when his shield is up. Morg can pop on black shield and was away from a gank. If Malz' passive isn't up he's screwed. Nothing stops the opposing mid laner from popping his shield in advance of a gank. This is the same way you can pop Yasuo's shield with a well timed auto.

that statement could not be any funnier on a starcraft forum. The game died because it tried to evolve. some things are better left untouched
That's a joke right? Starcraft has received 2-3 total changes to units every 5th month for the last 2-3 years (aside from expansion). The game has absolutely no diversity and we have seen same unit compositions for 5-6 years.

Starcraft 2 just wasn't as good as it's predecessor and came out at a time where the RTS genre was no longer popular. If the game was called something else it would never have gotten off the ground to begin with. It's actually possible that if it came out in today's world it would have done a bit better than when it came out since PC market has been surging reasonably well. Add in different pricing model and we could have a genre revival.
League isn't what it used to be but it's still doing perfectly fine. It can't stay static. Dota has changed immensely over the last 10 years as well. Even CS has changed over the years it's been active. Games can't remain perfectly unchanged and expect to have sustainability. The hardest part is creating that change while still retaining the original intent/fun. You can argue that league has failed at this from your perspective, that's a perfectly reasonable argument.

I don't agree. I think it did well to come out before the MOBA-surgence. It came out at a time where there was no other competitive games, and thus it faced almost no competition. The decline from late 2011, however, showed that it couldn't match up against its competition. Gamers simply found CS, LOL and DOTA to be more fun.
The only way it could succeed if released today was if the game had got rid of the high learning barrier, both in terms of knowledge and mechanics.

Yea you may be right about that. Do think Warcraft 4 could potentially break through if it build on Warcraft 3. War3 seemed to have the perfect balance between casual and competitive. Add in a healthy mod base which these days prob won't happen as Blizzard is too anal about control.
Getting back to league. Has anyone had success with the earth bender hero? I was really keen when they announced her but since then haven't really felt the desire to grab her. Is she good/fun?

A lot of people feel this way. I'm glad others can enjoy the game as it is though. Yeah, this is called "when league of legends was total ass". First blood -> dragon -> every lane is now up in gold -> supports buy nothing but wards -> team that's behind is choked out for the rest of the game. That was an absolutely horrible meta and the fact that you're defending it is kind of proof that people have no fucking clue what's good for this game.

Many people have theories as to why Starcraft is daed gaem but I think it's pretty simple, and your post implies it too: it's designed as a game that can't be played with friends. That just doesn't really cut it any more. Every single of the "big games" is a multiplayer experience with friends. The number of ranked players according to op.gg increased 20% this season after Riot introduced dynamic queue.

That might also have to do with other changes, like normal queue becoming dynamic (and thus you end up waiting forever for a game, it's easier to practice in ranked), and removal of Dominion (which didn't have a huge player base, but it wasn't minuscule either).

right on cue riot's biggest dick sucker enters thread hehe xd
too bad it didnt help him get out of gold, yet he pretends to understand the meta

Basically 90% of the posts responding to yours were saying the same thing no need to single out one guy and be a douche bag. Makes me assume you are really overcompensating for something because that post is over the top.
Good irony right here, assuming all sorts of things about me and insulting me while complaining about insults LOL
must have struck a nerve with you since you're gold or something

I mean I'm not really sure I see the issue, objectives like First Blood and Dragon should give you a lead. I'm not sure teams were ever reliably choked out like this before in a way that they couldn't be choked out currently. The new system is arguably just as punishing depending on which dragons show up, and you also have things like Rift Herald and the changed Baron.

The new system is arguably just as punishing depending on which dragons show up, and you also have things like Rift Herald and the changed Baron. Of course they still give you a lead, it's just a question of degree. My guess is that if you compared teams with, say, 0 to 2k gold lead at 10 minutes from Season 3 vs today, the Season 3 team has a much higher win %.
Also the warding system back then is what made the snowball so smothering. As much as it was fun to light up an entire jungle with wards, it meant that a) pro-level supports would literally buy nothing other than boots and wards (not even a sightstone), and b) there really was no way back if the other team was competent at warding. I think the game suffers whenever there's a propensity for "infinite wards" - see, e.g., pre-nerf blue ward trinket.

I have played 9 games of her. Not in a couple days though. Either way, I think she is fun and strong. But she has the potential to be TOTALLY useless. If you miss your W, you lose SHIT ton of damage. You can also totally screw up a teamfight with ult (or totally save one).
I also think the riot recommended items of GLP/ROA is totally shit. You really don't need more mana than morellos (and the CDR is great). You should be getting rylais ASAP.
double dorans -> ryalis -> morellos -> whatever the game needs. grab some boots 1 before rylais, and boots 2 before finish morellos. Grab a seekers or a negatron before rylais if things are going badly.
I really don't think she is as weak as soloq winrates make her out to be.

She is actually real strong in lane early.
Real real strong. She should shove out her opponent once before six. Don't fight after six till 9 or so unless you get kills bottom.
I have a modest winrate with here. I fucked up a few teamfights real bad, threw some won games.
EDIT: Holy shit, I am bad... why is this queue taking 20 minutes. Dynamic Queue. LOL.

I think the friends-argument mostly just confuses correlation with causation. How many people play LOL regularly with their friends? Unless it's over 95%, the reason there are other reasons for it being so much more popular.
From my experience, majority of ppl actually play soloq.
And that reason is how difficult it actually is to have fun playing it somewhat casually.
