All of the items have huge synergy with his kit as opposed to just being "good tank items" on other champions. Spirit Visage's value on Poppy vs Ekko for instance, free Iceborn proc from dash etc etc. Doesn't strong synergy with items precisely arise from kit? You say 'not really per se' but that's exactly the point, tank Ekko loves his tank items, and on top of that he also does a ton of base dmg and is sticky asf in fights and has a healing invun disengage. No champion is OP because of items, but it can be because they make more effective use of them. Right now I'd say there's little problem with tanks items, if there was we would be stuck with League of Tanks again. Ekko just has a loaded kit that can do too much.
Passive slow can go. He gets rewarded from pulling it off already with bonus damage and MS. He does not need to slow his target as well.
They need to take stuff off his kit, because as it is right now, ekko will murder anybody he's ahead of in a long lane through infinite chase, and still farms well when behind because his kit punishes dives incredibly hard. His kit just has too much utility atm for what they want him to be.

his kit wouldn't do too much if his base damages weren't high as fuck
you'd just be jumping around doing zero
hard to feel sorry for an irelia flair complaining about ekko you just bumerbang him mate

you guys just salty old men ekko is kind of an interesting character he's just a bit too strong i agree. i've played since 2009 and i think the game is in a good state. my only issues have been how they handle champion design & reworks

you guys just salty old men ekko is kind of an interesting character he's just a bit too strong lol dynamic queue. lol warding. lol elder dragon that's basically a second baron, lol automatic jungle timers, lol buff duration. I don't think we're being salty, I think we legitimately have a lot of issues with the direction this game has taken. I miss when the game was about getting a gold lead through dragons/buff control and using proper warding/dewarding to take map control and push that into a win. A lot of people feel this way. I'm glad others can enjoy the game as it is though.
My issue with Ekko is that his kit just seems like someone thought of all the trendy mechanics a character could have, and putting them into one character. He could be weak and I would still hate him. And c'mon, Malzahar's passive??? Absolutely troll. I was never one to bitch about champ design but this is just ridiculous.

The game's graphics are fucking beautiful now though, and it's great to see a lot of the Garena splash art making it into the NA client.

That's really more of an issue that you're missing what.. 2+ years of context for a lot of these changes?

Not neccesarily, but there might be things that you don't like now that were changed as a result of something you might have liked even less in the past. At which point it would be an upgrade, even if it's still looked at disfavorably.

that statement could not be any funnier on a starcraft forum. The game died because it tried to evolve. some things are better left untouched
anyone that thinks the new fiora, gangplank, mordekaiser, kog maw, malzahar, skarner, taric, vlad, etc to name a few made the game a better place is being a rito dicksucker tbh. A lot of them got way more cancerous designs.

Considering that the community constantly soft iterated it based upon the metagame with ever rotating map selection, it did more changing than meets the eye.

Just aurto him, then trade 2 seconds later.
Kind of a pain, but no imbalanced.

"Just auto malz then attack him two seconds later" seems like a recipie for getting dead.

malz passive is one of the stupidest things ive seen in this game, or any game for that matter. i play ap champions the most and just imagining a scenario where i as leblanc has to throw my slow ass auto at him before i can throw spells whereas he can silence/ulti me on the spot is making me laugh. or me as fizz trying to gap close but the only way to do that without wasting one of my spells is to flash. lol ok bro

All videos games must evolve in some form to keep interest. Lol/dota has new champions cs:go + sc2 have new maps
SC2 died because its boring to watch and more about strategy. Lol has strategy but people like the herp derp fight me big wombo combo teamfights which is why 2v1 lanes gets so much flame.
what about new poppy being a more interesting champion? how about sion? Graves now feels very unique and like a big guy with a shotgun.

The thing about malz passive is that it's not counterplay. When Morg spellshields someone it has a CD, a cost, and you can bait it and she has to actively use the spellshields to counter the ability as it comes in.
Malz is just invulnerable and then again 18-6 seconds later.

Oh wow, the salt in this thread :/
malz passive is one of the stupidest things ive seen in this game, or any game for that matter. i play ap champions the most and just imagining a scenario where i as leblanc has to throw my slow ass auto at him before i can throw spells whereas he can silence/ulti me on the spot is making me laugh. or me as fizz trying to gap close but the only way to do that without wasting one of my spells is to flash. lol ok bro
There are champions that can deal well with Malz, and there are others where he just absolutely demolishes them. Tbh it kind of reminds me of current Swain, hence he's ban worthy (although I've noticed he isn't played very often in my games).
i would also add all the comeback mechanic (passive gold, exp etc) and limiting solo carry potential with every new season, now u can literally dc for 20 minutes come back get few random assists and you will be 3 levels behind , some of the reworks are also hilariously bad like kog, morde wtf were they thinking
I liked the new Kog rework . The Morde rework/Juggernaut patch was a joke though, all those champions got nerfed because they were super OP and impossible to deal with. The only one who came out alive was Darius, I see him in a lot of my games, and he's pretty balanced. But Morde rework is possibly one the worst decisions Riot ever made, he's going to need another rework if he ever wants to see play.
what about new poppy being a more interesting champion? how about sion? Graves now feels very unique and like a big guy with a shotgun.
For every step backwards, Riot takes two steps forwards. I think a lot of their changes to the game have been enjoyable, and tbh the reworks tend to be quite good after a bit of balancing, but they have also flopped miserably. I think that the game is better balanced in general than it was in S3/4.
Stuff also comes straight out of the blue. I don't quite understand why for example Riot removed the ability to QSS Zed ult: he was still seeing competitive play, he was just a noob trap in soloQ. Pretty much the same as LB, either you're good on him or you're useless. And now Riot wants to change the dmg on his Q to compensate, like wtf.
