I don't really think he needs to.
If that was the only thing you were looking for in a jungler Warwick would be perma banned.
I could be wrong but i don't think any champion can really punish him except the same ones that punish literally every other jungler in the Game (lee, nid, elise).
Like you run at him, get silenced and knocked up and he's deep in his own jungle already farming something else. Cho has no need to fight and tools to disengage. Even if you catch him, he is going to be full hp and it's real easy to land his cc when you chasing him.
I don't think many junglers wold hunt you that hard, waste of time and it's risky. I don't think good players counterjungle like that at all.
|
im not talking about counterjungling, that's something usually only bad players consider it's not a big deal and doesn't happen most games but for some reason in forums everyone strategizes as if jungle matchup is an important factor
your gank pressure is zero against anyone with a dash, your poor skirmishing means your counterganking or 2v2ing potential (if you get counterganked) is also weak
your gank pressure relies hard on your own lane ccing him or you coming right behind because you also have no mobility. Coming up behind people is risky because you lose 2v2's and have no mobility to escape them
you arent' a huge midl/lategame carry because you are easily CC'd and focused
|
I agree your 2v2 is likely worse than most junglers.
I think you kind of want to absorb cc and skillshots late Game though. I don't think run in and are a fight carrying threat, but I think you teamfight well regardless. Not every comp needs Garen, some need a Maokai babysitter.
|
absorbing skillshots was questionable when force of nature was still in the game, at this point it's bordering on just being a bad trait to have
unless they engaged into you and you're a full tank build, it's okay then, but cho was always a decent anti dive. nobody really plays dive though, and if they do its with HG tp's and shit
|
Oh absolutely, I think you want like full tank. I think you could build damage, but tank probably better.
Ideally no one gets hit with the skillshot, but I'd rather Full Tank Cho block it than your ADC. His size is a huuge (no pun intended) disadvantage late.
Thanks for your insight Teut, I know you're a much better player than me.

Well the thing is, you know you could have a somewhat tanky cho absorbing CC and doing literally nothing in the process or you could have someone else tanky who can do things despite CC being thrown at him.

what elo are you talking here? I would rather have nunu or teemo main on my team that random ass vayne/lux/kalista/nidalee/leesin player (for sub diamond elo).
Interested why you declare teemo so bad?

Teut has been near the top of the EUW Ladder since S1.

i hate teemo with the rage of 1000 burning spicey food night anuses thats the main reason
he's also completely useless contributes nothing to the team just serves to annoy the enemy with shrooms
nunu is similar except he is tanky and can kinda zone and take objectives
they're both not fun to play with or against

blocking skillshots is actually not that difficult a task if you want to. i don't think jungle cho is garbage but theres plenty of reasons its not top tier the reasons he's strong (good aoe cc, high burst damage) are not the reasons people tend to cite
"cho is useful because he blocks CC/skillshots" is as old as "amumu is weak if you know how to handle him" (invade at blue hurrdurr)
the times cho have been strong he was used to stand on immobile adcs with 100 damage vorpal spikes and a silence and red buff, that or just insta eat someone diving in.

Teemo is great though. No matter how bad a Teemo does he'll always have high damage so he can flame the rest of his team acting like he actually did anything in the game. Ezreal is also great for this.

my elo going down hard with the double trouble of playing with marten (less damage than the support) and trying to play udyr after 1322 nerfs keke getting better results after i gave up trying to make pure Q builds work

ezreals janitor work is great for re-engaging comps tho
while teemo players are only useful for janitor work irl

Also shitting on Garen in lane.
And yeah, objectively Cho is just worse than like Zac / Sej / bear.

fun =/= good
Shrooms do alot of damage so to completely ingnore that seems like a mistake. Attacking into a shroomed up area will be a every bad idea. Also teemo has a disgustingly fast turret kill late game which is also not to be ignored on a champion made for splitpushing who is very hard to duel for most champions. I'm not claiming he is an optimal pick but to claim he is useless is just wrong.
|
i never said they weren't good
you just thoguht that's what i meant when i implied i dont want them on my team i dont want ryze on my team either disgusting hero zz
|
Teemo is a champion that can be quite powerful with the right team and against the right comp. Because a teemo port is basically useless you have to be really hard committed to the split push, and teemo has to be far enough ahead that he can 1v1 whomever is sent. This means that when an ally picks teemo the rest of the team has to play around him and so a lot of people really dislike playing with and against teemos.
Nunu is similar only in that he has 1 ability and so is super binary to play with and against. He can either snowball a priority target and win the game because he can keep doing it. Or he does kinda nothing except take jungle monsters.

Starship Troopers has a famous bit about how in that society, the right to vote and hold public office is given only to those who have completed a tour in the military (paraphrasing). The thinking goes, of course there are plenty of dumbasses in the military, but there's one thing that every single veteran shares, which is that they have demonstrated a commitment to putting their country's needs ahead of their own.
This is kind of how I feel when I see a jungle Nunu being locked in on my team. Sure, he might be a retard. Sure, he might catastrophically feed. But goddamn it, when you pick jungle Nunu, you are signaling that you are a team-oriented player and that you care that the team wins than you carrying. A Nunu isn't going to sit in base starting /ff votes even though the rest of the team is winning, because he's not fed. A Nunu isn't going to take all your kills and try to 1v5 them over and over again. A Nunu is going to protect your ADC, secure dragons, and generally be a tanky disruptive mofo. The guarantee of getting a team-oriented player is probably worth getting a subpar overall champion.
(Of course lane Nunu is basically the opposite of all of this.)

I hate team oriented players I want people who can fucking carry the shit out of the game that way if they try to shut down individuals we're still ready to rek em
fortunately team oriented players don't get too far in solo q

Well, I did get an S+ playing mid nunu on one for all. Dude does hilarious damage when built full AP with a protobelt to just combo unsuspecting squishies.
Also 5 nunu's does a disgustingly quick baron/dragon. Can kill it in seconds.
