I like it, should not change anything except maybe more people at 0lp in divisions, and makes promos less of a pain.
Besides, it also makes promos a bit more as advertised, in the sense that now if you get the free win you need 2 wins in 3 games unlike the 3 wins in 4 games it was before.

There is a basic misconception behind "when ahead" builds
This is sometimes but not necessarily the case. There are a lot of high mobility champions which, when ahead, can go damage and become amazingly oppressive because the lower level champions they're against cannot make it to safety before being picked off. If these champions are not ahead, this doesn't work, since they can be counter-killed or escaped from and because in the event the game goes late they need to have survivability to get their team fight power off. Going standard when ahead on these champions is less optimal, because you wont' have the damage to be oppressive

The new promo system they're surveying basically takes away any sense of accomplishment. It also takes away a lot of frustration. I'm kinda on the fence. I'd prefer a straight up elo system that ranks people from 1 to 10 million. So reducing the effect of promo matches is positive. On the other, promos actually do feel pretty good to win.

We can agree on that it definitely does not deserve to be treated as some of the worst offenses, like racism OR that it needs a higher occurency to warrant the same punishment. I don't want every single person getting 2 week bans for saying gg ez once, but those who make a habit out of it... well, they've been warned, and not just now; I remember around s3 a Rioter said that gg easy is reportable and will be punished, so it's nothing new.
But then again, let's make it one week if they have not been banned for this before.
And the analogy is bad, because jaywalking would be something extremely common and rather lame, like calling someone stupid, or just simply using words like shitfuckdamn. Why is it hard to see the difference between "wow, that was fucking bad, dude", where you need to be a trigger-whore to lose your shit, and "GG EASY, REKTERINO", where someone who is apparently not a kid, but me, gives you and your teammates possibly the biggest taunt one can do in this game, and basically tries to invalidate all your efforts in that game, with the added thought that the shithead will probably get away with it, which kinda backs him up.
And don't tell me it's just a game, because that is the worst and the single most annoying excuse by people who usually do not play games at all, so at least you should know better. If it's just a game, then don't try your best to win, don't try your best to improve, don't try your best to climb the ladder, don't try your best to not to freakout on others, and really, the bottom line is, don't even fucking play, because it is a game, just move out and embrace nature.
This expression has gotten pretty corrupted, and have a fierce battle for the no1 spot with the "ROFL, YOU SPENT MONEY ON A GAME?!!". Anyway, one would think you should not see these in a gaming community board.

The whole game is a succession of taunts in all chat whenever a play is made, be it a big play or a really small play

So you got to understand that when you are losing the game and getting taunted in all chat, there's nothing more satisfying that turning it back and sending a well timed "gg easy" in all chat when you win, I don't want riot to take that away from me. It's the constant taunting and provoking in all chat that makes me want to comeback in the game so i can throw a gg easy at their salty faces.
If you take out the gg ez away, or you take away the taunts, then there's no point in trying, you're just massing games against bots in single player, it's playing and winning against humans that makes us keep queueing, the good part and the bad part of them.
By all means get rid of homophobia, racism and that kind of stuff, but I don't think all kinds of trashtalks are bad for the game.

I'd say "gg ez" is pretty negative, although obviously not as bad as racial slurs. It serves no purpose other than to insult the enemy team, so kind of obvious that it's not a desired thing.
I guess for me it's like, if I mute everybody on both teams when I start a game, I feel like I enjoy the game more than if I don't do that. And I feel like that shouldn't be the case, and should not be the desired situation. I should be able to talk to my team without it by necessity devolving into a shitfest. If that's the case, it's a problem and Riot needs to fix it. It's obvious their earlier attempts didn't fix it, so more severe methods are necessary.
And people who duo with me know that I'm guilty of getting pretty angry and confrontational, so I'm by no means not talking about myself, but stuff like "gg ez" or using hate speech is shit I never do.

lol people in here not liking the new ban system. Its pretty obvious that at the start there will be some outliners who will be banned. As long as they get unbanned again or their ban length gets adjusted. There's no problem.
Overall its a good change in my opinion

That's pretty much what I said a couple of pages ago. Needs finetuning as expected with a new system.
For a more ingame related topic: Suppose you are a 6 item support in the very late game. Should you swap your red trinket for a upgraded yellow one (pink ward trinket)? (no stealth champs)
In this situation you probably need to ward only around a single objective and the pink ward helps controling the area better than a red trinket.

The problem here is that this is a team game, where you are matched with random people and you don't have control over it. I did not mind gg easy when I played Broodwar, I knew I got outplayed, I won't mind gg easy in team ranked 5v5, this is the team i went in, it was my choice. But when I receive gg easy from a guy who made a good game based on my teammate low skill level or because someone in my team trolled or afk or the guy saying gg easy actually got carried by his also random team, then its not ok.
For the same reason its not the same when you receive easy lane or smth like that, this was your lane and you got outplayed there, so its more ok, at least according to my understanding
