yup, and additionally the situational GA pickup. GA has a stasis of 4 seconds which means that the item is no longer worth considering on kat as you can't reset during that time. being unable to attack for 2.5 seconds means that you have exactly .5 of a second to get a reset if your ignite is down. this means that you're basically fucked in team fights. needs to be changed to a 5 second window every time riot wants change kat there are 2 things that happen -they usually try to address they fact that she will either completely clean up a fight or do absolutely nothing -they implement the change and it backfires making the problem worse than before. this is just another case of this happening. either you get the resets in that window and crush everything or you don't. having a longer window meant more options in how to play out the team fight.

Wasn't Liandry's on Kat a sometimes purchase (assuming you got Haunting Guise first for early AP + M. Pen to get those early level resets) to begin with? Like I thought Kat got Liandry's as a 5th or 6th item (assuming D. Cap, Zhonyas, M. Pen Boots, Void Staff, Abyssal) or was it Rylei's?

Dude you guys really dont like Riot here, everything is a conspiracy for Riot to fuck over their players, or how they have 0 idea how to balance the game in every respect or how bullshit some particular change is. Like really? 0 discussion about strategy, fun builds or the like. Just incessant whining. Im just waiting on the Reddit knows balance video to come out. Kassadin is different from Leblanc and all other assassins because his ult is on a 1.8 second cd and he gets tanky as a motherfucker. He isnt easy to push out of lane, he has really good comeback potential and because of the range of Riftwalk 0 risk in lane in common gank scenarios post 6. How many times have you outtraded a Kassadin and he just rifts back to turret? Meanwhile you dont have as much sustain as he does and he just heals it all up, constantly scaling to late and now you lose in the long term. Now none of that and the slippery bastard cannot rift to safety 100% of the time. And has to actually flank. Like every other assassin. Nid though, shes so weird as a pick - like her early game snowball is insane. I dont mind her mobility because she really doesnt become a tanky force and has no real cc, but she kinda does absurd damage right now.

But 700->450 is ridiculous. Especially on a champion whose sole power point is his ult. If it was like...700->650 or maybe even 700->600 that'd be ok. Riot overnerfs WAY too often and way too hard. It'd be fine if they're willing to revert nerfs, but history tells us they virtually never do. I can count on one hand the amount of times I remember them reverting a nerf and I've been playing since Urgot was a new champ. Personally, I'm really annoyed at this nerf/this patch in general not only because I love Kassadin, but also because after 4+ years of Riot knee-jerk balancing and making overreaching changes, it's starts to get stupid. I mean ffs, Riot patches once every 3~4 weeks. Is it really that hard to make small nerfs, especially when the champion isn't that big of a problem. IMO Riot's champion design have been getting a LOT cooler and been steadily improving. Their balancing is getting worse.

Did he need a nerf? Probably, maybe to 600 range I'd be ok with. But Riot's always been overhanded with the range nerf on champions in the past (Ryze in s3 stands out to me the most, but I'm sure someone else can think of another equally egregious error). Edit: The reason why Kass was a terror last year was a 700 range blink (which does damage btw) into Q (which silenced) and E (which did more damage) onto the back line ADC (and probably drop them to 25% or death), Zhonyas, then R + Flasha away and laugh as he recalled with his gold. Current Kass goes what, RoA/Tear (into Seraphs) > Zhonyas > D. Cap > Void > Morellos/Athenes with M. Pen boots, right? Maybe Frozen Heart instead of the Athenes/Morellos if he needs more armor for a heavy AD comp?

Aside from your Kassadin points, which are half true (but only because Kassadin can't be balanced in a way that Riot likes, not because he can't be balanced in general), what is the evidence that they CAN balance the game? Since S2, at the beginning of ever season, they have been saying that they want to increase jungle diversity, but jungle diversity was highest at S2 worlds and IPL5, each time they made it more difficult for champions outside the top 3/5 to compete there. And now they are now porting +damage to jungle minions onto kits to patch over the problems created by the path they took starting then and have since snowballed. They released ZAC and Aatrox within months of trying to kill Rengar because he had too much free sustain (also Vlad). They left toplane as the "manaless bruiser" lane for 6 months (minimum). They let Gnar, a champion whos kit is inherently unbalanceable, be released. They invented Yasuo, who went from OP to worthless with only minor tweaks (basically the definition of poor design). They changed Gragas from an OP, but unique, midlaner, into an OP, an generic, toplaner then nerfed him out of the meta. They accidentally made Maokai into a toplaner (which would be fine, if not for the jungle part above). They continue to refuse to re-evaluate pick/ban. Riot created a fun game with fun characters, and hosts (or is involved with, thanks OGN) some of the best Esports events in history, but none of that has to do with their ability to balance within that game. Their new idea of champion balance seems to be to patch often enough, via nerfing top tier champions (plus reworks) for 50-60% of the cast to be competitively utilized over a "season", an arbitrary time period. When the minimum definition of balance would be that, during the life of a single patch. Particularly considering the necessity of experimentation and practice time leading to legacy picks.
