I'm not trying to challenge you or anything, I honestly don't know what the deal is about Top Hecarim. A lot of people are playing top hecarim with ignite/tp and reking kids. Pretty much all champs with sustain can handle sion easily.

Now, I don't post very often, but this is just wrong. ADC build paths are very diverse if you look at the role itself. Corki goes Trinity/Sorc boots/BT as his core. Kog goes Trinity/BotRK (Or PD, it seems to be shifting some?). Ezreal goes Muramana/Trinity. Vayne goes BotRK/PD. Ghostblade gets play on Lucian, and sometimes others as well. Same goes for Shiv. Sure, lots of ADCs go IE/PD/BT/LW, but there are actually a lot of ADCs that build a lot of different items that give them power spikes at different times. And all of them have been played professionally this season, so "pick diversity" isn't a myth. They might not get play as often as Graves, but clearly they are viable in the proper team composition at a professional level. Just because there is a 'standard' play doesn't mean that trying to spike power at different point in the game or in different situations isn't a thing. It also doesn't mean that different team compositions with different goals aren't a thing. -Edit- Hah, my first post since I registered 7 years ago! Totally didn't realize.

Sion you don't stick to a target, you just stand in front of your adc and stun/slow/reduce armor/%health damage anyone who tries to get to them. If you Q on top of your ADC whoever is focusing them either run or gets knocked up for 2.25 seconds every 5 seconds. You're a utility tank.

I'm not trying to challenge you or anything, I honestly don't know what the deal is about Top Hecarim. It's just a pick that's getting popularized by Keane imo. TP/Ignite and you still manage to be a bully in most matchups. Early game you tend to just shove lane and apply easy harass by running into range and poke. Late game, you split push for days and just run away with farm. Keane can easily do 10 minions/min or better, which is almost unheard of for a Top Lane.

Season long pick diversity isn't indicative of any skill in balancing because there are multiple patches per season (several already, and we are only halfway through). The 56 Champs used in 49 games in NA LCS, or 54/50 EU are pretty bad, and still wouldnt be ideal if this was all on 1 patch, but its not very good at all when there are picks from week 1 and last week that don't overlap, and that is mostly because of patches.

And then your whole team is dead, because enemy adc is untouched, amirite? Whole idea behind Sion's teamfighting is splitting the fights, if you stick to protect your adc, you just don't play Sion for full potential.

Not to say the champ isn't super strong, I've just been firstpicking him and getting free wins against almost everything top, that E-Q with your W up feels super unfair. They come at you, they lose because of your shield. They don't they lose because of your E.

I haven't seen it much but he feels like he outduels the immobile champs like Darius while being very mobile.
