On the other hand, I'm going to say something crazy...I supported with an ADC Zilean once, was a random I'd never met, but he did reasonably well as a utility carry with a free GA/near infinite kiting and old Corki style lane pressure. Now a range reduction is massive for this, but with the added CC and lower CDs, maybe? I dunno, just a crazy though, his base stats are still shit.

Meanwhile the duration gets halved and the speed buff receives no compensation. This patch is utter garbage, with almost nothing good coming out of it. I can't talk about J4/Sion nerfs, there's the knock-up bug fixed for Xin, but apart from that it's either gutting stuff for the sake of gutting it (reminding us of their fad-based design in passing, mobility earlier, then knock-ups everywhere, now making everything a skillshot, etc.) or ignoring the bullshit that would need to be addressed (like Ahri's stupid buffs the previous patch that were obviously grossly overtuned). What's the point of that fast patch cycle if they get nothing out of it?

Buffs like that would never make bad champions great, or even good, but they could make them less bad. I feel like it would be a big win if instead of bad champs winning 42% of the time they won 46% of the time. That's still enough to be bad and discourage play riot doesn't like, but its not enough to inspire the feeling of hopelessness if you happen to like the aesthetic of a bad champ. TLDR: with frequent patches they should be making large numbers of trivially small changes

As for the new champ, it's interesting because I would argue the ability to bring your whole team over a wall has so many more uses for defensive purposes than offensive. Utility of Bard is thresh level, actual power level remains to be seen. If he's anything like thresh though, damage isn't the selling point.

On a related note, I really hope they go easy on the Sion E on pbe, I'm already chugging pots like a madman, and even hitting every single E is not exactly a guarantee of a won lane if the opponent buys pots themselves. Yeah, Sion's laning is definitely going to feel this nerf. The mana cost reduction on Q/W will balance it out a bit but you spend so much time spaming E that those later levels are gonna start chunking out your mana. I already start Dring (or buy first-back) against some matchups, so I'm thinking I'll start getting one pretty much every game if I can afford to not get tanky stats.

Well I was just saying from a frustration and long term balance POV. His ult is a powerful ult, like Shockwave, Unstoppable Force, Crescendo, Requiem, etc. The only thing that is really worrying in his kit is the weird roaming passive, which is going to mean his SoloQ and Pro playstyles will be separated pretty significantly.

Riot didn't just Olaf Kassadin, they gave him the S1 Eve treatment. maybe if Kassadin had his pre-nerf Q/W/E this change might be okay. But now why the fuck would you play Kassadin when you can play Nid: farm better, poker better, sustain better, have more mobility, have resets on that mobility, AND have your mobility cost no mana. Nid also probably does more melee damage than Kassadin too. It's also hilarious that Riot's trying to justify the nerf by saying the mana cost reduction is supposed to make up for it. It costs something like 3 times as much mana with new ult to cover the same amount of ground as old ult plus it takes longer lol It's also really stupid that they always try to "compensate" for buffs with nerfs elsewhere when the champion could just do with a straight up buff. Specifically, Morde. They lower his health costs to help him out, then chop his health regen by more than half...also lowered his W damage too...plus his ult ghost does less damage until you hit level 16. He'd probably be better off if they didn't change anything. Actually, he most definitely would've been better off if Riot did nothing. These "compensation buffs" for losing DFG look more like nerfs than anything.

I can already see all those poor soloq adc's stuck in 1v2 lanes while bard drops healing packages for mid and top XD
