The new ultimate is ridiculously strong. Fairly easy to keep at least 2 others in range of it, and maokai's kit punishes diving so incredibly hard. His E also is invaluable for checking baron from really long range. Basically impossible to bait it when the maokai is too tanky to engage on even if you can break banshees+catch, and everybody else is sitting behind him. | ||

Obviously now unless you're playing the artillery piece style with Ziggs (and then you deserve to be gifted headphones playing Lux's laugh on repeat) or Kog, you won't do much with an immobile ult because one team tries to initiate, the other one counter initiates then runs away, then everyone scatters, then the loser gets chased. | ||
