I agree with the hit box nerfs for elise e but honestly they should revert the nerf to her q spider form damage if they want her to be a more close range champion. they refuse to nerf lee q range or safe guard range when he is really the only jungler who can still tower dive without dying early levels.

Hey guys im not one for "unviable" champs (as in i think everything will work in yoloq) but how well does olaf fair in the current meta and recent buffs / nerfs to him? I know he saw some play a few months back, i just havent been following league / him very well.

the biggest problem with Olaf is the fact that TP is so strong right now. Olaf really wants to run ghost unless you have a Sivir on your team. The fact that virtually all top laners are forced to run TP means that Olaf loses out on the versatility of having Flash or the mobility he needs from Ghost. Case in point, the last time Olaf was picked up reasonably often post-rework was when Sivir was also very popular and before Teleport got buffed.

Baseless speculation: Now that more immobile carries are seeing more play (ie. Kog'maw), it's possible that Olaf will make a resurgence since his lack of a real gap closer isn't as punishing. Still, Sivir not being popular really really hurts him.

I swear, getting critted for ~75% of Cait's autos over 3 successive fights where she only autos me till I'm dead when she's got 55% crit makes FH kind of totally freaking useless since RNGs has its way anyway. Not my evening.

Didn't see a single Shen in a least a month in soloQ anyway. Pros have stopped playing him as well, even if he's enabled again, I wonder how he would fit in the current meta, with his slow waveclear

Heh i hit beyond smurf country on my low level. level 22 and i got matched with 2 diamond players who went bot and a lvl 15 they queue'd with who went solo top, had to lane vs a diamond Ziggs. with my no rune having diana. eek.the top laned vs a platinum teemo and their jungle lee was diamond. their bot lane were a lvl 17 and a level 25. damn impossible to enjoy games when this is a possibility at low levels. the levels handiap is real. i dunno why you can get matched up vs solo low level players when you queue with a low level on a lvl 30. seems silly.

??? You should relish that experience. Being consistently matched with people who are far better than you is the best way to learn. Your mistakes will become more obvious to you, you can ask questions during and after game as far as reasoning for builds/general map movements/warding/objectives/laning.

Outside of draining game knowledge from Milo, Durr and Aura when the TL inhouses were active. Leveling my smurf was the greatest learning experience I had in league of legends. particularly levels 20-27 when I'd get matched with D1/D2s every game.

Clearly there's a connection between winning games and enjoying the game. But to win more games you gotta get good first.

My biggest issue with Riot's patching policy is that a great deal of the time (not 100%, but a great deal), they will slightly buff a champion, the champion will see more play, and then the champion gets nerfed A LOT HARDER than before the buff happened.

Like I was fine with Maokai before he was reworked. Yeah he didn't fit into the meta but I'm a Maokai main so I made it work. But now I'm afraid that, since he's seeing more play, they'll nerf his entire kit in a few patches just due to popularity reasons. And the nerf may be worse than before he was reworked.

haha its not about being matched with people far better than me I'm roughly around that level especially because i'd bet these guys were d5. its being matched with people who regardless of skill have a mathematical advantage over me, and then on top of it they are very good. being down 8 mastery points and 30 rune slots gives you a massive disadvantage that make even a lesser skilled opponent very dangerous. so hitting the point where i can queue solo and run into 2-3 stacks with diamond players means i have to start spending IP on runes and not champions on the account in order to be able to compete. i can only imagine if this is common what happens to new players when they hit this point. probably doesn't help that the last 10 levels feel super super grindy.

From the Statikk Q&A regarding Alistar:
3) Alistar
The W+Q combo is something that we never intended to exist, but it's something that Alistar players have gotten used to and is honestly integral to his current balance and gameplay. If we were to revisit him in a Reworks style approach, I think there's a high likelihood that we would remove the combo and instead give him more ways to create situations where he can W enemies into walls to setup a follow-up Q. This is probably a healthier version of his combo, but it's not something we'd do unless we supplemented the kit with ways to function and succeed without the combo.

Granted, it's not new, it's exactly they kind of thing they did with Pantheon's ult. But when they're so much about "player satisfaction", "high moments", etc. then why would they remove a combo with such high potential for big plays, initiations, all-ins, etc. on a champion like Alistar intended to be aggressive?

They don't like players finding a way to use a champ that riot didn't design it for. most of the time these methods get patched out. its weird. they used to reward that sort of thing and cater to it. somewhere along the way they stopped..

They didnt intend W Q to exists yet it has for years and was a super important thing to master if you play Alister yet now after years we decided this was never suppose to happen and we will break it unlike you know, a patch after this bug was discovered...

Riot being full of shit as so often is the case...

Also, don't want to nerf Lee before Worlds so lets nerf everything instead. cause that cool and didn't get us yelled at last time right?... right?

They did nerf Lee. The attack speed slow on E is removed and shield duration on W is halved. At least it was on the last iteration of PBE.

kogmaw got nerfed in the previous pbe patch(specifically his early game), so they were just adjusting some stuff. And they just nerfed kayle/twitch like a month ago, so it's not really a "buff" in the sense that they're still weaker than they were before lol.
