I'd much rather go Bork/Triforce on Udyr tbh. The attack speed + drain has good synergies with tiger imo, or just go triforce then all tank. For the most part theres very few laners who can out trade even lvl 1 tiger strike without losing like 1/4 or more of their hp, i always play him very conservative with mana when i go toplane and never really have a problem killing someone when i get the chance | ||

It's an uncommon pattern for a champion to not need mana early, but to need it enough to invest in an item for it 2650 gold in. Usually it's the other way round, where a champion has more mana problems early and slowly outgrows them. | ||

Good point, however rushing Essence Reaver does not seem that inconceivable, especially top lane. 2650 gold isn't nearly as expensive as other popular options (BoRK, TF) and can be gained rather quickly before mana doesn't become an issue. Also there aren't really that many great bruiser items that DO give mana/mana regen immediately. Sheen, Glacial Shroud, and Muramana come to mind but Essence Reaver could potentially fill a different niche than those. I really just want this item to be good on somebody.. perhaps Jayce/Yorick are the only best bets. | ||
