Rylaiw not completely necessary. Since if you can land good wall it negates the need for rylais for a bit. It comes down to Seraphs being more core than Rylais.
Just some reasons as to why he values AA so highly.

Alright, we're going to call it a day with all the Thorin drama, guys. I figured if it was about SI, onGamers, TSM, etc, it had some relevance to League but somehow you guys managed to devolve the discussion into an issue about race of all things. Enough is enough. Let's move along now. -NeoIllusions

Somebody tell me this isn't going to be the case, because QQ. doesn't morello first work fine if you get like 2 points in W before 6? I don't see how it will kill it. Are you relying on that extra 5 mp5? For me, I suspect I'll be going Morello instead of Grail in almost every case. I might try some tear based builds (e.g. Syndra loves CDR so that's a con, but she can stack a tear pretty quickly). Well I guess Ketara's concern is lack of MR against lanes like syndra, and leblanc. I think it should be okay if you pick up heal as summoner. Or grab 2 pts into W before level 6. Ah true. Even then, I don't think the MR makes much difference to Lux, given you have shield and you will almost always be taking a defensive summoner (Heal or exhaust). I'm guessing you won't need the MR much for late game either, you want the mana regen/CDR to spam from distance. Of course I'm not a Lux player, but I've played against her a bunch of times. 40 mr is a ton with just 1 rank in shield. It's a pretty big drop in the upcoming patch, especially since some cdr blue runes are not uncommon in certain lux builds. Oh absolutely, but I still think it will be pretty manageable for the Lux. Though I don't know why you'd run anything but MR blues in a Leblanc/Syndra/aggressive AP matchup. Also on Karthus, his visual update was a raging success in my book. I really want to learn to play him. He looks awesome now.

Too much tournament watching, too little playtime... I feel like scaling is core on karthus, you want to reach the point where your ulti does 20+% of the squishie's health through MR and you don't reach that point by delaying scaling items.

You'd have to play a LOT better than the Akali to beat her without succesful ganks and you need to harass her a ton pre-6. In most cases you'd probably have to just start farming with empowered Q at some point.

She will get her farm anyway, opponent goes roaming or your jungle babysits, or simply by roaming herself. To handle a potent akali your team needs to stay focused throughout all game and keep in mind that akali can easily 1v2. Therefore, you don't blow up your CC on first enemy or even on adc. You wait for akali to show up. No one can outcarry akali, except wholeteam effort. which is easy if done right, but exceptionally hard in low levels with so many 'retards' in your team :D

Pair him up with the current nidalee, and you got yourself a scary as fuck poke comp. I'd say it was always the case (initially off lane Kha'Zix was a bitch because he'd W the wave, one-shot it, and then have all the isolated Qs he wanted onto you; now he uses Tiamat for it), but I wanted to check his patch history to make sure of it and it's broken on the wiki. >_> His W damage hasn't really been buffed since the W evolution nerf. Poke's always been there.

I like the patch frequency they have now. It's not like they're changing 20 big things each patch.

Ah the Ice frog treatment. Thats a proactive style of patching and updating not a reactive one like riot uses. The weird thing is thinking that nerfing the strongest champions only affects people who play the strongest champions. If the top champions are all say teamfighting champs, then teamfight meta will drop off and your lesser used teamfight champ favorite becomes much worse within the context of drafts. Or perhaps the current top champs are strong against a character or playstyle that your champ pool is weak to. A lot more gets changed than just numbers when you nerf the top champs all the time.

In one case you try to incite players to do stuff, in the other you react to them doing stuff. (A champion not being played much is more the result of a small subset being prefered than that champion being specifically avoided.)

(A champion not being played much is more the result of a small subset being prefered than that champion being specifically avoided.) Trying to incite players to do stuff based on an assessment of the current situation is still reactive. The term "proactive" is just deceiving and makes it seem like the dota way of balancing is fundamentally different, which it is not.
