Riot is trying to shift him to being mainly a top laner, where he's seen play before in the past to moderate success. The mana cost reduction is huge there because it just cost way to much to use in lane.

But there are stronger bullies and champions scaling better. With better clear, and 1v2. He was sent to the jungle because he didn't cut it as a laner anymore.

EUW killing my games. That or the goddamn delay between Lulu ult cast and the actual effect.

The old change where they took the armor bonus off of Demacian Standard hurt him in lane far more than it hurt him in the jungle (it basically killed his ability to 1v2). I would have looked at a revert of that first.

Jarvan still gets armor from it, only the aura is gone.

But the armour from the aura buffed Jarvan too, that's why he was pretty tanky and his early all-ins were so potent (along with the initial burst+cc combo).

This. The additional armor from Demacian Standard's activation applied to him as well.

And not not only is his shield bigger than it was when the aura got removed, but it costs less so he's more free to use it.

They could revert Jarvan E and he'd still be in a good place because no one runs Renekton Jarvan Taric MF anymore, but Riot has stated that they want to remove random auras on champions and make it more explicit where their power is. This isn't a bad goal at all if it was implemented well and complemented with itemization diversity.

Junglers carry. Supports carry. ADC's don't carry. Toplane is 1 DPS item rest tank, or Ryze, or Jax. Who gets 2 DPS items and then tank.

No srsly. Toplane is usually this tanky dude who does damage naturally. Renekton, Shyvana, Jax, Ryze usually. On occasion you might see a Trundle or an Aatrox. Irelia is making a comeback.

Junglers are super strong. The sentiment that junglers win games are now not only true through pressure/objective control, but also raw teamfight strength. Damage junglers with 1-2 DPS items are all the rage right now.

Mid lane is again home to mages. AP assassins, usually. Or the odd Orianna. Or the odd former support in form of BATTLERAKA and Lulu.

There are only three choices for AD carry. Lucian for raw midgame power. Caitlyn for winning lane. Twitch/Jinx for lategame hypercarry.

Support is where its most fun at. Whatever champion you find down here is the BEST at what he does. Fighting? Leona. Burst? Annie. Lane bully? Karma. Or how about more defensive oriented? Nami. Thresh for all around. Also, you get really rich down there. Like, within 2k of your carry.
Do not regret. Always forward, never back.

No Nami is the jack of all trades whatever you want her to do she'll do it to some degree. You can maddog like fuck with just auto attacks then blow your combo on them when they decide to respond. Getting a chalice on support nami means never having to say your sorry.

Start one of the three gold regen items + pots/ward. Relic shield for thresh leona, Spellthief's edge for poky shit, Coin if you want shurelias (you can also start spellthiefs for gold/poke and sell it later for shurelias).

Then you want sightstone (first one, ruby isn't really needed since of the 3 ward on the map at one time limit), mikaels crucible/spooky ghosts/zhonyas on some champs.

Banshees/randuins if you need tankyness. Frozen heart is also acceptable on some champs (blitz<3).

For Boots, you probably want mercs/mobos/cdr depending on champion and situation. You can also get the flash cd enchant (forgot the name) if your team relies on a tibbers or crecendo or whatever.

Edit: If you get really fed you can go sorcs, haunting guise or other offensive items, cause you actually have a really easy time getting gold as support nowadays and you have sightstone for wards.

For trinkets, you should start the ward trinket, then swap to sweeper about when you get sightstone. Then upgrade whenever you feel like you can afford it or if you need it vs a stealth champ, as it doesn't reveal stealth without the upgrade.

whatever floats your boat, honestly. attackspeed based junglers have made a comeback thanks to feral flare. the most recent nerfs to it will probably only let the strongest of those remain in meta, i assume.

so for feral flare, nocturne and shyvana probably.
the rest of the damage junglers are along the lines of lee sin, eve, pantheon, wukong, elise.
the undisputed king in the jungle right now is bruiser khazix though. he has it all. tanky as f uck, damage from hell, awesome scaling. although he has been made a fair bit squishier in the latest patch and his teamfight damage output has been reduced significantly.
vi is still strong from the tanky ones.
Do not regret. Always forward, never back.

Vi is still viable so long as you have either a support/mid with heals/shields (lulu, karma, battleraka, Morgana) or the enemy team picks an immobile adc/mid with no Morgana as support.
