They wanted a fun mode, they banned the extreme (think winning 3-4 games for every loss when facing opponents of the same skill) outliers, so that it was possible to use the matchmaking system without either picking them or losing

It's more the communities fault than Riot. They are unable to play the game for fun within min/maxing. Maybe this mentality has been perpetuated by Riot as well but hard to say. It could also just be the nature of getting rewards for winning(IP) that has shifted the community this way or the way the game is designed. Anyway moral of the story is no matter what happens the community will always gravitate into a must abuse to win mentality instead of just playing whatever and winning.

anyone else in canada using Shaw keep getting dcs and high ping since last patch?

past his first clear he seems fine and his ult ganks are strong as ever
CONS: 1) His clearing speed is pretty slow at the beginning and he loses a lot of health doing it, remember he lost his attack speed buff on Q and he was slow even with it.
2) Its hard for him to make early ganks 1) due to not being full health 2) his mechanics doesnt allow it. You can do only lane ganks or if the lane is pushed a lot, both happens rarely early game and cannot be compared to going straight into the enemy with reliable gap closer.
3) almost no presence on the map without ulti (this goes into its worst state if your team is losing and the other team groups up to push, you are 110% useless without ulti on)
4) Counter jungling - Rengar can't counter jungle any tier 1 (even tier 2) jungles any longer. He is very vulnerable to counter jungling.
PROS:
1) Fun to play 2) If everything goes well - you can carry :-)

holy shit new exhaust is so fucking hard to see now really dumb

I'm always wondering if I actually landed exhaust or not with the new animation. I have to check my summoner spell icon to see if it went on cooldown lol.

The new sunfire cape animation sucks too. I don't know how this an improvement on the old one.

I've only played a couple games, but haven't had an issue.

I can read the patch notes, I don't think the new animation fixes the problem at all. I'd argue it makes it worse. And then it's uglier on top of that.

No way will Braum work in the current meta. What you want from supports is typically either hard engage/pick potential or Phreak's solution to everything: tons of damage. I see Braum as a great peeler without much damage a la Janna and she doesn't fit into the meta anymore either. I don't necessarily think he's bad, just with how the game is played he's not quite bringing to the table what you expect from supports. Not until adcs start going for lategame and it's not Lucian/Cait every game bot then maybe he'll be able to showcase those manly muscles and that chiselled 'stache... or his chiseled muscles and his manly 'stache.

Teams can turn it around in the span of one tournament. If they went to the NLB from All-Stars and dominated nobody would really look twice, Not saying they're still not slumping but anything can happen. If IEM taught people anything, it's that international competitions don't actually mean shit when judging whether Korean teams are on form. People thought KT Bullets got their shit figured out after IEM, but it turned out that they only looked good at IEM because they were crushing garbage teams. As soon as they went back to Korea they looked just as mediocre as ever because they were back to playing teams that didn't suck.
Is one tournament sample size enough?

Donno about that. Nothing is more fun than Yi 1v5 and win.

As a long time Kat player, I like how Yi plays.

I am main supporting and actually was trying to think how match ups will work bot lane with Braum and could not think of situation where his skills can turn a lane or game in favor, he feels something like more useful taric, meaning he is all right does his stuff, but doesn;t have what it takes to make plays to lean the game to your direction. If the team is doing fine he can blend, if not, not much he can do to change it.
p.s. Actually the unique thing I can think about Braum is that in team fights he can literally block anyone who wants to jump on the adc (or other priority target) and you cannot go around him, all other supports that are good at peeling, they are good at peeling but if they miss or more people dive they can only peel so much, while you need to go over Braum first if he wants to protect someone and this may prove significant who knows

I think we pretty much all agree that Braum seems really cool but isn't going to fit / will underperform. That means he'll be first pick/ban given TL's champion track record.
You know what though? The Braum Taric duo lane will be ultra manly.
Taric stuns and walks up to a guy, Braum jumps to him which gives Taric armor, thereby increasing his armor aura + Show Spoiler +which increases Braums armor aura, which increases Tarics armor aura, which increases Braums armor aura and damage. Taric shatters, Braum auto Q auto and gets his own stun after Tarics stun.
Manliest of lanes. Great success.

AActually, I think Braum will work better with Leona who has an actual gapcloser.
When Leona goes in, Braum can just piggyback with his W, E up, then Q/auto. Leona's Q should buy enough time for a Braum passive stun, while Braum will keep both of them safe.

How is Braum Leona as manly as Braum Taric?
Please.
