Ahh, ok. And I assume that DDOSing is the main reason why Ranked isn't enabled yet then. Hmm... Oh wells, back to the normals for me then.
Edit:
Oh wait, ranked appears to be back up on NA for me.

Just to be clear, he was getting dox'd and someone swatted him. The police didn't show up at his house because of his interaction with the ddosers.

So, stupid question incoming.
Do I have to take precautions and change my passwords and such because of this whole ordeal?

I'll say not just to relieve you for now. Someone might come in and tell me I'm wrong.

I knew that Plord was a shitter ever since the v8 drama way back. All the decent people in that team went on to go pro/work at Riot, meanwhile PLord is still doing his stupid unfunny attention whoring shtick.
At the very least Riot and Twitch should both serve him lifetime bans for the damage he indirectly caused, they can do that without legal hassle. Same for Steam account etc.
Don't necessarily need to see him in prison or whatever, the guy's just fucking dumb.

If phantoml0rd for whatever reason wasn't streaming today, they would have gone to the next most popular streamer and done the same exact thing.
That being said, you're retarded. Congratulations on blaming the victim.

WHAT? How can you even say PLord is a victim here? He profited off of DERP's actions. The more shit went down, the higher his viewership, the more ads. If DERP had taken down PLord's stream, yes he would have been a victim. Not this way. Not in the slightest. Things PLord could have done after he finds out he's dealing with criminals: Call the cops. Shut down stream. Or at the very least not give them the attention (IE banning them from your Twitch chat or letting your mods do it). How hard is that?
Yes, DERP is the main cause of the attacks. But Phantomlord gave them the platform they wanted on a silver platter and crawled up their ass. He carries some responsibility and thus he would have noone but himself to blame for if he gets banned.

There's no guarantee calling the cops will do anything other than waste his own time; also no other streamer would just turn off the stream at 140k viewers.
also like i said even if he did just turn off the stream then they would just go to the next most popular streamer and do the same exact thing, as I already said

It's not about what other people would have done or what would have happened if PLord had shut his stream down. It's about whether his actions on the whole were morally wrong. I think they are. Not very severe, but still wrong.

Turning off his stream would be silly. You can't just turn off your stream whenever a dood tells you he will shoot down servers that you try to visit.
|
So, it seems to me, though I missed the kerfuffle:
A group hacks Riot, randomly watches PL play, begins harassing the servers on whatever game he's playing.
He talks to them, they get bored. People watch. The police get called to his house for a hostage situation, which probably tells me that the hackers fucked with him. Then his personal information got leaked.
Yes. He's quite the evil mastermind here. Truly rephrehensible what he did to the communtiy by doing his normal job and trying to be entertaining in a weird situation.

no, but you also don't have to like go in vent and chat with them and give them tons of exposure and advertising. Ignoring them is a valid option, it turns out!

I'm not suggesting nor implying anything other than what I said. Doctorbeat said turning off his stream would be one of the reasonable decisions to make, I disagree.

They do it for the attention and they'd stop if nobody gives a shit. PL did his best to glorify the "hackers" by being bros with them and actively trying to interview them while asking for people to sub so they can ask them questions. I don't know how you can spin it any other way. PL was retarded.

sorry, there are so many people in a lot of places defending PL to the death for whatever reason, I jumped to conclusions. Yeah, turning off his stream would have been dumb.
