I'd rather just give up now to avoid the frustration I'm sure it will cause me, especially since it is doubtful I will be able to amass any large amount of games between now and the deadline. You can do it Wave!
If not, just play more HS.

good move by tsm they probably have the best mid na now

Burger-san is probably gonna demolish all the NA mids and TSM is already a mid-centric

the OGs are all leaving QQ

God TSM is going to be scary.
That is, if they can convince me of two things:
1) The shotcalling will be handed down to someone capable, and 2) Bjergsen proves to be as good as Regi with handling TheOddOne's ganks. He had to micromanage TOO because he's a shit ganker, if Bjergsen can do the same then TSM is going to be a motherfucking force. Especially if Wildturtle plays like he did at worlds.
I have confidence that Reginald will be a good coach. The friction coming from him blaming people will be gone, and he can pass on all of the stuff he was good for as a player, such as his really good engagement calls.
I'll always love TSM, but even if I didn't I would approve of this decision. Good work guys.

Burger King will murder NA mids.

The real question is how will NiP cope?

Does anyone know if whether you get clamped is strictly a function of your current MMR, or does it depend on how long you've maintained that MMR? Like, is it that you will be eligible to promote to gold V or whatever as soon as your MMR hits 1600, or does having ~1600 MMR for 10 games in a row (say you have a 50:50 win/loss ratio, so MMR is not going up or down) count more than just spiking up to 1600 after a win streak.
If your "MMR stability" does matter, then it's possible to maintain a 50% win rate and yet still get unclamped for seemingly no reason, except showing you can maintain your MMR.
|
I'm pretty sure your MMR increases significantly when you're in promotion series... Otherwise I cannot explain how everyone who says they are in promotion play terribly and I fail like 10 promotion series in a row every time. Unless it's just a coincidence but I wonder...

And 50% is not important in my above question, replace 50% with "whatever winrate keeps your MMR at the same value"

I have to say, with both Regi and Saint retired, who the hell am I suppose to hate train now? Been on that bandwagon since S1. <__<
Need to find another player to cheer against before Spring Split. Hmmm, maybe Zuna.

I was once at 99 points in Silver 1, won a game, got 0 points. Lost two, won one, qualified for promotional series. It's definitely not just based on MMR.

Wait what? Saint retired?
Im old

Im old Saint retired a few weeks ago. Now he's just collecting his e-sports pension as an analyst or somesuch, unlike Regi who owns a big cash cow franchise to draw upon in his retirement.

Outside of Mancloud (and with Zuna in the jangle instead of GodSmithie I'm not entirely sure how well Vulcun/TechBargains/WhateverTheirNameIsNow will cope), probably; if he's playing on NA soloQ however, it'll be a good thing. The bar for NA mids needs to rise (same goes for jungle/top; or basically non-bot lane roles).

So whether you get into promotion series is not just "your MMR needs to be above X" but rather "You need to have spent Y games with your MMR above X"
|
Well I doubt that, I see people with like 50-10 winrates skyrocketing in elo. They definitely don't need to wait 10 games in silver I or whatever.
|
The system needs to be confident that you belong above a certain MMR threshold to not clamp you. How you got there is somewhat irrelevant.
For the 1 win(clamped), 2 losses-> promo situation
You've been somewhat streaky lately, so your mean MMR is above the threshold. However, because you've been streaking, the system is uncertain, so your lowerbound is below that threshold, and thus the system clamps you. While your mean MMR drops, your uncertainty bounds narrow faster, and thus you gain more points(and get promoted) despite the record of the last 3 games.

So when the ladder resets is there going to be a major patch? or is the patch coming after the reset?
Also season 3 was my first season so how is the first couple weeks/months of a new season work?

I am wondering why my favorite champs feel pretty weak in late game(summoners)- Riven and renekton. They don't fulfill any particular role well. They lack overall utility and cannot engage opportunistically because there's no retreating once you engage. I've played through through all the champs in the game, and these both have problems.
champs with no reliable gap closer and no good escape should always have more raw power dps wise to compensate risk of being shut down e.g ryze/morgana/lux can all shutdown riven/renekton.
e.g if i wander around with a instantaneous gap closing champ and I can engage relatively quickly without being denied e.g xin zhao(E +ult) and irelia can gap close and burst a bit(E+W) and retreat. whereas riven is too predictable and takes too much damage and lacks a variety of builds. whatever you build on riven, another champ is much better with that gear etc.
my question is to you guys why won't riot attempt to force riven to be super competitive and be a viable pick? even tryndamere can still lose easily in pubstomp solo.I don't get why riot is saying 'some champs are for fun and early game cheese'.

What? Riven is the most competitive pick in the game right now.
