But now anytime someone brings up his name it's his attitude that gets alluded to. For what it's worth I don't think IWD will do well. I don't have much confidence that the new Curse line up will be any better than the old one (they'll probably be a middle of the pack team). But could we, at the very least, not talk about IWD's 'attitude problems' unless his teammates specifically address it? Since, once again, it was never his attitude in competitive play that got him into trouble it was his attitude in solo queue. No one talks about HSGG or Regi or any of the early streamers who were crazy BM every game and streamed it but everyone talks about IWD even though they probably never played with him or saw him actually act BM. /rant I played with IWD a long time ago, he was incredibly toxic, I ended up ignoring him and reporting after the game. I played with him more recently and he wasn't toxic at all, it is obvious hes made an effort to improve, or at least to not get banned again. I really really doubt his attitude will cause any problems for Curse.

They are obviously good enough to stomp ranked 5's into the ground (hilarious stream at the moment, they won in 16min just now) it's going to be a long while, top5 of NA can't play in tournaments afaik so we'll only get to see Curse vs. Challenger teams or worse for the foreseeable future. Voyboy is a potential #1 on Twitch any time he streams, this might not be the whole reason he was kept but it is very unlikely that it was not a factor.

Yeah he is one of the best streamers both in regards to popularity as well as actually streaming decent sessions often. Still I'd consider him one of the top 3 top laners in the US, so I'm not really sure what the guy who wants him thrown out is smoking ![]() In regards to todays stream I think their new ranked 5 is gold at best. Just watched them stomp 2 teams in under 20 minutes :D

There aren't many proven ADC+Support combos who aren't in the LCS, to my knowledge. Robert, who would be a clear upgrade, is probably being scouted by Vulcun (as their sub), or else on a new amateur team (given the implosion of TBD, not sure where he went). Aphro isn't the worst choice. He use to be pretty hype end of S2/Beginning of S3, but then he 1) kept choking at LANs and 2) was picked up by/joined CLG to be a support and we all know how that went lol. His ADC play was so flashy during the Solomid Tourneys. I remember 7 minute BT Aphro Draven. True terror. Was one of the reasons why mancloud remained so undervalued until Aphro left to join CLG for Aphrolift. I said it before, but zekent (despite being the nicest guy) never really impressed me with his play, and neither has IWD (I never liked his jungling on Dig, though perhaps I was nostalgic for the Jatt days).

Agree with a lot of this. Aphro is probably on the same level with Cop skillwise but is way more likely to win/lose a game in a crazy play wheras Cop is rarely the reason Curse wins a game or loses a game. Zekent is so blah, he plays a beast Janna but he's just decent, really. the NA Support pool is so shallow though. IWD wasn't that good on Curse academy from the games I watched, so I don't hold out much hope for him. Overall its a team that has a lot of flash, but I'm not sure it has too much substance, unless Pobelter really unlocks his potential in the LCS.

Overall its a team that has a lot of flash, but I'm not sure it has too much substance, unless Pobelter really unlocks his potential in the LCS. I mean, I can understand where Liquid is going with this. He's got a pretty good pair of solo laners, and now has an impactful ADC (the impact being potentially both ways). The jungler and support/shotcaller just needs to be reliable/non-toxic to the team (aka, actually smite objectives/makes good calls/isn't the reason for player departures/*cough*notSV*cough*), and their lineup functions fairly well. While I'm sure they'd like a jungle/support upgrade, there isn't any clear ones that aren't currently committed. They will probably end up scouting more talent via their Academy team, though. I don't hate their lineup, no matter how unimpressive IWD and Zekent are. But I would be very cautious in saying that they're going to sweep LCS or something silly. All three lanes have the potential to carry games (instead of really only Voy, given Cop's best KDA and Jacky's perpetual slump), but how likely they're team functions in actually doing so is another question entirely. On October 08 2013 10:38 YouGotNothin wrote: I think SV as coach could have a lot of potential. Not only does he have a lot of actual LCS experience, he also seems very mature compared to other pro players, a rare combination and ideal for a coach. If nothing else, the team will likely respect him, which is important. Depends on how drunk he gets and how often he yells at the team. Though I suppose having the coach yell at the team for their mistakes after a game is more healthy then having the captain blame his teammates (and not taking any responsibility) during the game. So there is that.

The problem is none of his champ pool overlapped with op'd FotM. Nyjacky in spring split was pretty good, he was a stable player, then summer split came around, and he played like SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. I like aphro for the switch over Cop. When you get to the higher echelon of play, it's always better to go for risky play maker than stable player.
