Probably any plat players can play Morgana competitively... because you know, there isn't really much you need to do. People swoon all over Lux but Morg's skill ceiling is low—what? They're often compared, 'cept Lux has a way lower skill floor, and Morgana's more situational and susceptible to mobility creep in general. People still won't rush Banshee or QSS or whatever against her, so when they rely on base MR+runes her W is huge. Problem is, whereas others just want/need to hit one spell as they poke, she's got to hit a combo, and her Q, despite very strong numbers (damage, cc duration, range) is still a slow skillshot (not the particle itself, the wind-up). Mobility made it so it's harder to make people stand in the pool (well, they're better at spreading out in general, remember Morgana got shafted because of excess popularity at the start of season 2), and it's harder to get a good ult. Power creep in general and the way builds have evolved means that RoA first isn't as doable now (it's not that weird frankly, the catalyst passive and all the stats make sense on her, it's just too disconnected from the pace of the game atm) so she's also more susceptible to poke, while stuff like new SV means her midgame WQ combo isn't as universally threatening as it was. TL;DR: Morgana's like Galio, relegated to strong anti-dive and counter-initiation and it's not popular nor sought-out now, with the pushing and aggressive mindset. Also mobility creep. I donno. I feel Lux is a lot harder to play, because: 1. Does not have no-brainer Corrupted Soil wave clear from level 4. Laning phase not trivial. 2. Does not have (almost) no-brainer point-blank R. Teamfight not trivial. 3. Combo requires autoattacking weaved in. Actually, Corrupted Soil is pretty awkward these days. If your opponent has a way to demolish your melee minions they can really screw up your pool placement. It used to be the most godly waveclear in the game because there were basically zero champions who could do that, but not anymore. Even in her prime there were a bunch of champs who could screw her rather easily, dedicated pushers like Malz, Morde, Heimerdinger, Galio, Brand after his first back, etc. (Lux could too, took a bit more time though. And the fact that a lot of champs built RoA 1st item back then also played into that situation, since Morg clears off of base damage and they all skipped AP early.) Obviously they weren't all optimal/viable in competitive play at that time, but in pubs? That'd be like saying "Karthus is OP, can't stop his farming and he scales hard QQ" while ignoring that Syndra, LB, Veigar, Talon, etc. exist (a few months ago I'd have said Fizz/Ahri but they're FotM now). Still playing normal, just wondering how viable these champs / playstyles are in ranked. Thanks for any advice! Fiddle is relevant at all levels of play, as a jungler he can be easy to disrupt but a good ult is devastating to any team, he gets played as a support more than a jungler at high levels. TF has very strong global pressure and fits into poke or splitpush comps, currently a little weak due to the assassin meta in mid lane. Corki is currently the most played ADC, though he's getting slight nerfs and triforce took some slight nerfs lately, too soon to tell how much impact they'll have. Awesome, thanks! Also looking at adding Trynd (top or jung if they have a strong counter-jungler when it comes to ranked, yeah Fiddle is super easy to mess with) into my repetoire, what do you think about that? Also, what are your recommendations on backup mid and AD carries to train on in case TF / Corki get banned in games. Not interested in Ezregaybait, way too common imo. Maybe Ahri and Varus? Maybe Anivia as well for the lols... I'd say Orianna since she's more teamfight-oriented than TF and does well against assassins (who TF's weak against) in general (I believe Diana too? I find her fun to play, and her ult mechanic makes it easy to roam, no huge cd). If you want a backup in the "another pusher/roamer" sense, Kassadin, Ahri, Fizz all strong roamers, all banned often though, and only Ahri really pushes. Ziggs can assist fights from super far with his ult, his passive rewards auto-ing like TF does, and he pushes/pokes super well. And a veteran will like ou (5HIT I think?). Show nested quote + On October 22 2013 13:45 GhandiEAGLE wrote: His ult is good, honestly. It's not fantastic but it really is underrated. It doesn't have the same dps as his autoattacks, but until people stop seeing it like that they wont see how useful it is. Autoattacks cant be shot while moving/dashing, and they don't allow you to be able to deal damage from anywhere in the fight. "It's too hard to hit Pantheon's ult, you need to cast behind them it's not intuitive, and you scale badly because without escape you can't dive 1v5 and assassinate late game, waaah!" Well maybe because that's simply not how the champion's supposed to be played, duh? >< Gets me so annoyed when people refuse to switch on their brain or adapt their playstyle, because I'm afraid if they complain enough Riot might listen to them. Sure Morgana has counterpicks, but those you listed see as much competitive play as Poppy essentially. The only one there with some potential is Brand.

Most of the LCS players don't stream on the side and make only 25k in riot salary for 2 splits+ any winnings. This also goes for streamers who "only" make a living with 1-3k viewers like Destiny who probably are nowhere near the 6 figure range. I wonder how much Voyboy or TOO could make if they streamed 40hours a week, and just only did that as their source of income. Nowhere near as much as the guys who own the websites/brands. HSGG/Regi are the big boys in terms of money. I couldn't name a single tsm/clg sponsor except snapdragon. They suck so much at marketing that I doubt they make that much money

MF could possibly be buffed back to her ult damage at the start of s3, but it really depends on if there are changes to limit split pushing, if you can force team fights easier in s4 she'll be good again. Graves is good, I don't know why we don't see him more, the fact that people still pick Ezreal for anything other than blue Ez just shows people are unwilling to play champions that require good positioning unless they are broken op (see:Vayne)

I dislike the ability almost altogether right now, it's basically just good for a TF proc or a passive stack and nothing else.
