I was actually always irritated with Fiora slashing
The only animation where she actually STABS the enemy (which is how I believe her weapon is used most of the time) is during a critical hit (I think even her Q is actually a slash)... which is somewhat silly.
I agree, Tryndamere is using like a less modern, early medieval Greatsword with bad balance, really meant for hammering your enemy into submission, technique not very different from that of crude clubs. I agree that a skilled swordsman is really something that LoL needed, but I'd welcome someone who uses a shield even more. Isn't Pantheon the only champion with a shield in this game?
LOL, no more TL+ for me. Sellout TL wants more money

Leona has a shield too, although it's only there for show. Pantheon is the only one to use a shield, and that's just with his autoattack (his passive makes a sound but other than that it's not really a shield thing).
Singed's shield has so little impact that I literally didn't notice he had one. Leona's at least is big and is an intrinsic part of her design. Singed even HITS people with his shield and I don't think about it, because it's so disconnected from his theme.
Fiora's sounds don't sound like a rapier, which made me a little disappointed when I expected I was buying a refined character who used really well placed strokes rather than SLASHSLASHSLASHSLASHSLASH

To jump in on this convo, Yi's visuals and animations are SO TIGHT it honestly makes him even more fun to play on top of his already fun kit. I'm in awe of how amazing the Chosen skin is, honestly.

Actually lets be fair with this one.
Compare Ohmwrecker with RoA, which is already kind of a "standard" Kassadin buy.
RoA: 2800 gold
450-650 HP
450-650 mana
60-80 AP
Ohmwrecker: 2850 gold
350 HP
15 HP regen
15 mana regen
50 AP
Ohmwrecker active
Considering that the HP regen is probably stronger than 100 more HP during laning, and the mana regen is probably as good as or better than 450 extra mana, and the AP is similar, I'd daresay Ohmwrecker is probably stronger than a zero stacks RoA because of the active.
Whether or not it's as strong as the fully stacked RoA late game is I think a little more questionable, but I'd be willing to entertain this as a possible idea given certain matchups / team comps.
Also note that because it builds from a Philo, Ohmwrecker is probably overall slightly cheaper than RoA, and has an easier build path.

I think the question you need to ask when it comes to things like shields is "Is that character the same with or without the shield? Does not having a shield take away a key part of the character?" With Pantheon, although his shield is a big part of his actual kit, be it his passive or his auto-attack, I don't think he would lose that much, albeit he would feel a little different.. Taric and Singed are basically the same, but Leona, despite only using her shield on her Q, would definitely be a different champion without her shield, just because of her theme being strengthened by that shield. Playing her would FEEL different even though very little is changed. Theme and identity is something Riot talks about a lot, and I usually just tune it out, but I with Yi and it being done REALLY well, it makes me think about all the failings in theme and identity Riot has within their game (which is inevitable, all games start horribly).

Kass needs mana pool more than regen, so I find it suspect claiming that 15 mana regen > ROA
Also, there's the healing from catalyst (you don't lose it on ROA), which is VERY relevant, and in the mid game is giving you some very real HP/MP5.

To make up that mana difference you would need to not level up for 2 minutes because once you level and proc cataclyst once, you blow philo out of the water. The Hp regen of philo looks a little nicer, but again the moment you level up and proc cataclyst it gets blown out of the water. Also by that point in time, if you had a catalyst, you could dunk on dudes with R+Q and not have to deal with the shitty HP regen that you have to use because you have shitty mana regen and no mana pool. Did I mention that Blue Buff is also a % max mana regeneration so having mana is nice?
So what you're really saying, is that disabling a tower, every 120 seconds, from attacking 2-3 times depending on how you time the Ohmwrecker active is worth somwhere between 1300 and 2600 gold, depending on how much you value regen.
You know what else you could get for that gold difference? You could just pick up a NLR and oneshot dudes and not have to deal with tower aggro at all.

Mana regen is pretty terrible on Kass. Because of how his ult and E works you want a bigger mana pool rather than mana regen, hence people rushing Rod and/or Tear.
Ohmwrecker is a pretty trash item as it is now since you spend so much gold for regen stats, which seem very contrary to what the item's trying to do (pick fights/dives with active). It's also even worse on Kass since you shouldn't really be tanking tower shots so much that Ohmwrecker's active makes a difference due to your built-in flash.

See, you can call me Rotund'jere, because I have this aura about me that whenever I'm in a game, any Kassadin, whether on my team or not, they actually accumulate DEBT instead of gold. See the cool thing is that I scale irl and it helps me in game, and it's to the point now that I only let a Kassadin buy certain items when he's really in debt to me. I mean, if he's down 10k I'll let him get like a 28 minute RoA + tear + boots combo, but that's about it. If he THINKS of going NLR, I don't lend him the gold to get it at least until 60 minutes. By that point I've already won the game, so I consider that countered.

Holy shit this thread does not like Xizor. He was asked a question to which he gave a response (albeit an unusual one) and suddenly there is two pages of the most passive agresive posting I have seen in a while. If you don't like what he says don't respond or absolutely crush him with supporting facts (replays would be nice). We seem to acknowledge that Xizor doesn't give a shit about words and you guys refuse to stop arguing with him. Jeez he didn't even interrupt an on going discussion.
