For example, during TI3, the LoL DotA 2 thread had some discussion about whether buybacks were a good or a bad thing that didn't really make any headway.

I read up on some of the differences between the games, but I can't find an good, unbiased opinion on which game is more fun/rewarding to play. Now, I do not want to have the conversation here (please don't get me in trouble), but if anyone knows of a place where I can read some pros/cons of the games without having to wade through fanboy opinions, that would be great. Now, if you're not looking for pros/cons per se, but a sheer list of differences, check out this guy. His early videos feature a great comparison of the differences between the games, with a focus of introducing a LoL player to DotA.

I don't want to start a shitstorm by straight up asking people in a LoL thread which game they think is better, though. However, I know there are plenty of people on TL who have played both games and have well thought out opinions/thoughts on the two games. In general, that perspective can be hard to find, and like I said I don't think this is the place to discuss it. I was hoping someone like Yango or others had already posted their thoughts somewhere.

That is why when I ask for an opinion, I try to seek out people who tend to have similar preferences as me. For example, when I was starting LoL, I noticed that many of the champs I liked were similar to what Smashgizmo like, so when I saw him making guides on certain champs I would try those out since I knew I would probably like those as well. Still, you are correct you can never tell for sure just based on other people's opinions. It is a good starting spot, though.

I usually alway ban thresh + blitz because I hate the hook mechanism... but then I feel like Vayne, Yi and Tryndamere can dominate even more.

I don't think there's really a need for a dedicated AD/Armor item, hell I don't even know what kind of niche riot is trying to fill with the new phage. Doran's shield, ninja tabi, warden's mail and chain vest seem to be far better options for itemizing against physical damage champions, and it's not like bruisers are hurting for AD itemization. It's just a straight nerf to Phage and Trinity Force, making BotRK even moreso the default item for melee auto attackers.

SC2 except not as great a gulf between the two. You could probably post in the Dota 2 thread in this subforum and ask there for more detailed answers. Syndra has a lot of high skill things she can do to protect from fizz, but i mean they are things you literally have to just practice for hours. like Shoving fizz away as he jumps at you for Q, cancelling it. Or for the brave: running toward him during it then shoving him into your tower and stunning him.

It still builds into Trinity Force, the stats and cost of which have been modified accordingly. + Show Spoiler + 250 health removed, 30 armor added. Cost reduced to 3578 from 3843 . Icy unique passive replaced with Rage - Basic attacks grant 20 movement speed for 1.5 seconds on hit. Kills grant 60 movement speed for 1.5 seconds. I'd like to state for the record how absolutely uninspiring "Rage" is. It's basically the used car salesman version of Sivir's passive.

First time I witnessed-first hand this godlike late game Poppy. Besides maybe a better team comp to peel Poppy off, no idea what my team could of done to deal with her once she got to 4-5 completed items honestly.

Banshees is quite strong vs poppy as well. IF she gets to that point, you better have been planning for it or your only option is to take an incredibly well played teamfight or split push.

Split pushing is suicide unless your split pusher can 1v1 Poppy (which is questionable if she's huge).
