I wonder if you could take a summoner spell twice how many champions would take two Flashes. Galio certainly would.

On a more serious note, I find it interesting how early Alex buys Homeguard enchants in almost all situations. He's been doing this in the LCS as well. There are a lot of instance where he is able to back more frequently and get a lot of CS he would have missed out on if he didn't have Homeguard.

I don't see why for mid lane in particular anybody wouldn't try to get Homeguard ASAP. If it gets you one-two minion waves you would have missed it's basically paid for itself.

Assassins are annoying but just as much as with other popular ADs like Varus, Cait, and Draven.

Her W nerf really did hurt her early laning though, and you can't outright win all trades by autoing now.

All 3 of which have some form of CC or escape to kind of deal with people diving on them. MF really doesnt (I mean, there is Make it Rain, but that's not very good for your own survival, tbh)

She was picked for her AoE and her lane bullying potential. The latter was taken down a notch with the W nerf as well as the increased popularity of laneswaps. The latest nerf to Make it Rain couldn't have helped either... I could be wrong on this last one, but I'm pretty sure the BT/LW nerfs were pretty recent as well? I personally think she's still okay, just not as popular as the other ADs right now.

Is it just me or is the NA LCS wholly uninspiring? I mean the level of play just seems off. If you look at the C9 vs CLG game from this week. + Show Spoiler +
CLG starts off with double FB with assists on everyone at 2:00 and the state of the game after 9:00 is like this.

Top: Jayce vs Kennen. Jayce with FB is down 48 vs 73 cs AND 30% turret damage after no less than 3 ganks. Kennen had none.
Mid: FB Ori vs Zed 70 vs 53, which is fine i guess.
Jungle: 2 assist Elise vs Lee Sin is down 46 vs. 21 cs AND lvl 5 vs 6
Bot 2 assist Janna/Trist vs Ez/Lulu i down 64 vs 53 cs AND a turret

I mean how is that humanly possible on in a professional game. You get miles ahead early game and cant stay even.

And the pretty boy commentator really grinds my gears. He speaks like he's half way retarded and for some reason speaks to his audience like they are even more retarded than him.

Is it just me? Am I overreacting? Or it it truly this bad...

Biggest problem is that you have to be standing still and not doing anything while ulting, and anyone with a CC and a gap closer can stop her from being highly effective. It's harder to get money ults off now without two really strong initiators, and typically nowadays the only strong initiators are junglers (Lissandra might be changing that!). Compare Varus and Draven who can both ult for AoE dmg, and for Varus AoE CC while still using their other abilities, repositioning etc.

NA LCS was really slow and unimpressive to start the spring split too, they need a few weeks to build up, get regular practice, etc. It'll be good by week 5-6 or so.

And for the second half, you just sound like a grumpy old man. Nothing personal though.

If you paid a little bit more attention or understood the game better, you wouldn't be so angry about the C9 vs CLG game. Jatt explains it perfectly here: http://na.lolesports.com/season3/split2/articles/jatt-breaks-down-clgs-strategy-c9s-first-loss

That game was largely due to how terrible the lanes were for CLG and the early few kills didn't give them a massive lead. It just meant C9 couldn't use their superior laning champs to destroy CLG. Maybe pick another game to rant about?

Kobe is one of the best casters in the game...if you're not happy with him then you should probably watch only Korean vods.

And you are putting too much weight on FB. When you don't have a chance to shop, AND you lose waves of exp b/c you had to go team fight level 1, then yeah you're going to be behind. And when you pick trist/janna you are conceding any 2v2 lane. C9's picks are all aggressive in lane while almost all of CLG's want to just passively farm and can't really duel very well.

As far as lanes that should have won, Link is the only one and he was indeed up in cs. Jiji is not as good a jungler as Meteos and fell behind, but Meteos could invade Jiji's red side knowing his 2v2 lane had way more pressure and mid was about even.

So much hate! This thread hasn't had a proper derailment in too long anyway.

Last time I asked for food advice I got some amazing recipes so here goes; what's the best food for people who can't eat solids? Taking care of my little brother who has a throat infection atm but I've got nothing.

Although I feel like I could probably outlane a Zed or Kha'Zix on Galio, maybe Jayce idk, but it would kind of strip the advantage of "build MR still do damage" since you'd probably end up rushing Zhonya's instead of Abyssal.

This isn't actually that big of a deal, and people far overstate how much Galio's play should be centered around this. The fact that you get AP from MR isn't the relevant point here, but the fact that it's quite hard for a melee to dive through Galio because Idol of Durand is one of the best counter-initiating skills in the game (directly comparable in function to Enigma's Black Hole in DotA). This coupled with the fact that Bulwark is an extremely good counter-burst skill against all types of damage.

More relevant is how dependent Galio is on his Flash CD which is overly prohibitively in a fast-paced game.

I think my hesitation comes from the way I play Galio (which is to play him as a giant 'fuck you' to AP lanes since going Chalice -> Abyssal is pretty hilarious). His over reliance on flash is definitely his biggest issue.

Lol Kobe referred to as the pretty boy commentator is hilarious. His voice/style is not exactly standard professional sounding but the content of his commentary is pretty good I think.

He is a gargoyle right? why not add a short leap to his ult to allow him to reposition before it gos off. Nothing big that lets him jump across a front line but just something to help him get into the thick of thing.

would running homeguard+teleport on galio sufficiently shore up the flash dependence? mvp ozone did something similar in quarterfinals vs kt rolster b by using homeguard+teleport ryze as their primary initiate. they didn't win that particular game, but the strategy seemed viable, if unforgiving of wasted teleports

Galio already has his E that lets him catch up to people when Flash is down.

The reason he's over reliant on Flash is because a lot of champions can queue up moves to stop him from ulting or cancel his ult almost immediately after he starts it. Even if you Flash->ult you can still cancel it if you respond quick enough (it's why having someone like Malphite on a team with Galio is strong because it guarantees you get full ult duration unless your team is against like...Udyr or Naut).

TP+Homeguard would help but it wouldn't eliminate the problem of people just CCing him while he's running to ult or queuing up a CC that lands just after his ult starts.

Honestly, if you're running flash/tp on Galio, I prefer going Distortion boots. Homeguard + TP feels very gimmicky, and I hate relying on gimmicks to win.

Building pure defense on Galio with some AP mixed in is amazing (obviously), but still works if you have to get armor against an AD laner. Athene's/Zhonya/Abyssal is all you need to be good. Everything past that is bonus. So rushing Armguard into Chalice really isn't bad at all on him. I still pick him from time to time because Bulwark is so much fun in lane, and only gets better as the game goes on.

I like Kobe as a caster because he's genuinely enthusiastic about the game, when he talks about picks or strategies or champions he sounds really excited and he never seems to put anyone down.

I don't like him as a player because his isolation style of play is very inconsistent in the NBA. They say you live by the three and die by the three, well, I feel like isolation is the exact same thing since you're banking on one player to carry you. Granted, he's the best at isolation, but I still just don't like that strategy and playcalling-style and would prefer a more team-oriented style.

Lastly, the beef produced in Kobe is very good, but I really dislike how disingenuously prestigious it is in the US. Your average Japanese supermarket beef is much more marbled than USDA Prime. And while Kobe beef is among the highest quality, there are also other regions in Japan that are in the running when it comes to high quality beef. It just turns out that since Kobe beef was the first of its kind to be revealed to US audiences, people think of it as the very best, and even worse, you have something called "Kobe-style" beef which is really just American Angus beef cross-bred with a strain of Japanese cow.

What do you guys think about a champion that has a form swap on a long cooldown? For instance, a melee champion with a suit of armor that gives her bonus resists and a moveset with good base damage, low scaling, and good utility, but her ultimate "sheds" her armor (doing AoE damage) and she becomes a melee assassin. I was also thinking that her passive would cause her to lose her armor at 20% HP and push back nearby enemies, which would create an interesting dynamic in 1v1s and jungle strategies. You could swap back to tank form after the ultimate's cooldown (>60s).

Would a champion like this even work in LoL?
