Or as many as Teemo shrooms.

Brand was the first champion I remember being wowed by. He was an instant buy after he crushed me in mid. First champion I ever mastered.
Who was everyone else's firsts? Who popped your champion cherry?

My first buy was Ashe but the first champion I really got hooked on was Katarina (back when 5 bloodthirsters and a GA was the optimal build) and then later Akali when she was released.
|
Ryze was my first buy. But he was merely a means to getting Heimerdonger

Chogath, back before jungling was even a real thing I would take him solomid and run smite so I could take wraith camps on cd and get 8 minute RoA

Say you were analyzing temperature data and it all looked like a mess because you're looking at peak temperature every day for 4 years. You could instead smooth out the data and see some decent trends and seasonality. Same thing with stocks.
Riot does this but their method seems to be rather artificial. I don't agree with the method because you convolute basic math with these "placement matches". If conditions. And while technically given enough time you are almost guaranteed to get to your right level, placement matches can screw you over 10 times in a row if you're just barely gold 5 and not silver 1.
I don't understand why Riot didn't just use some sort of smoothing algorithm (eg. moving averages).

I played a lot of Cait and Singed when I first started, but Riven was the first one that I HAD to buy and spammed games with all day.

I was so sad a few months ago when everyone else realised how good he was and then he got nerfed

I started playing at Viktor, and I fell in love with Ahri* then and now, still in the throes of K-pop*, and Morgana, who was my first attempt at really farming.

What if there was a champion who did true damage that reset

Warwick was my first champ

Udyr was probably the first I got hooked on. I played my 12-13 first summoner levels trying to jungle Lee Sin, and it didn't really go that well. Then I bought Udyr, and suddenly I could take my first buff before level 4. Good times :D

My first hero was TF. I started playing around the time of IEM Guangzhou, and after watching Misaya destroy everyone with him I bought him and played only TF for a couple months. This was back when AP TF was a pretty troll pick and every time I picked him I'd get flamed in champ select. I'd then proceed to carry every game. Yeah I'm a hipster.

Yes, and saying it is "designed to" be confusing is disingenuous. maybe it is "is" confusing but the developers certainly didn't intend for people to get confused by it.
