after playing it yesterday, whoever you are, i think you're right. granted it was only one game top, and like all but one of my lissandra games, i lost. and i also built like an idiot (cloth5 against singed lulz) but i can see her being pretty dominant there whereas in mid she gets eaten up by a lot of bad matchups.

It's a bad mistake but they were so far ahead it's not too bad. I was more surprised that NO ONE on CLG noticed, I mean you can have pretty dumb oversights when under pressure (Nien backdoor hello) but it makes me question how often other members of CLG press tab.

Learned the hard way, was playing Elise vs fed TF, he ulted on to me and I stunned as he appeared but he got a gold card off, and my stun wore off first despite my Treads. ![]()

I still think she's good mid, her roaming potential is strong and her laning isn't a bad as everyone makes it out to be.

Brand plays very much as an in-your-face burst mage. The original nerfs to him hurt since you lose a lot of ranged threat so you can't just mindlessly lane bully your way to victory but his burst is still quite high and the passive is good against hp stacking champions. However, his only form of CC is conditional and a skillshot at the same time and there is an element of RNG to his ultimate. Orianna can play both in an aggressive and controlling fashion lane and is very flexible. Her Ultimate Shockwave is also incredibly powerful both as an AoE nuke in and of itself, but also in setting up the follow-up from your team to wreck people. Her strength, utility and flexibility makes her a very high pick in competitive play as a result. Think about the kind of playstyle you enjoy and see what suits you best. Have you tried the champions before in free weeks? Which did you enjoy more? Etc.

Brand's ultimate is hit or miss. Generally, it's a miss though. Feels really terrible. On the other hand, you have Orianna who has a lot of control in team fights, and her skillset is applicable in all types of plays/team composition. The biggest thing is that until you learn her better, her ult is enough to make up for some lacking plays. She can be used easily in the AoE team comps.

Brand's kit isn't amazing or anything, but even without his ult, he can check bushes with Q, has a stun if you jump him, a respectable AoE nuke (ablaze ratio is 0.75 on his W) and every spell leads to a 4s 35% slow to anyone hit thanks to his passive, which helps a lot creating space in teamfights, kiting, and slowly wearing people down in the clean-up phase when you can't really get too close to an opponent or he'll just gapclose+finish off your 400 remaining HP. (Obviously as a burst mage with somewhat short range you'll actually either devastate the enemy team or get dove and be the first to die (though oftimes both, amusingly) so those cases are far from your run of the mill Brand games, but I really love him in those situations and the way you can try to outplay people, get the under tower stun into 2-men ult during a gank, etc. in general.) Orianna's damage feels lower without items, but her range is greater, she has some pretty huge utility, and her laning is pretty fun thanks to her passive and shield which open up a bunch of ways to outplay your opponent(s). Items give her damage, and I find her less fun during the clean-up phases because while she's excellent at supporting the rest of the team (esp. with W, or just Q to give vision of the bushes, etc.) she's also much more straightforward than Brand. So she feels more rewarding in the teamfights proper, but much less in the aftermath phase. She's also more versatile, safer both in lane and teamfights, has more synergy and doesn't suffer from the issues associated with burst mages currently (not enough instagib potential and fall-off too early to make up for the lack/absence of utility which is sought out a lot in AP picks now).

I knew that sort of thing happened when you were getting close to a promotion series, but I've been stuck at 0 points for days now because not matter how many games I win in a row, two losses resets me back to 0 points. Because your mmr is really low.Check the average league of your opponents/teammates and you'll notice they are lower than you even if they are higher pick.Welcome to the club lol.

See that's what I thought but then that makes no sense. I've won more than 50% of my games since getting in to ranked. During normals leveling up to 30 I was playing with almost purely plat/diamond smurfs. And I often get teamed with platinum league players now that I'm in ranked. So all of those details confuse me ....
