They pretty much did tho. Its no longer showing elo for that very reason.
If you give people a high point of X they believe they belong there. much better to muddle the waters and leave people unsure of where they are so they dont complain there in the wrong spot.

Was TF a "troll pick" at any point since beta? Oo
My first game was with LeBlanc. Then I played Katarina, liked her, spammed her for the remainder of the free week (I think I started playing on a... wednesday? Thursday at the later), after buying Ashe with my first 450 IP because archer with frost shot reminded me of Drow Ranger, who was one of the heroes I played at my scrub level in DotA. Then I looked at all the "low-cost" female champs (again because of DotA, where all heroes I had liked playing but Nightstalker were females, so maybe the archetypes would be similar), and their kits, settled on either Janna or Morgana, bought Morgana in the end (back in June 2011 so I can take hipster credit), spammed her, had another look, liked Irelia, bought her. I can't remember if my third was Swain (after playing against one with Morg; we won, but his ult seemed cool even though I had absolutely no idea what it did when I saw it) or Singed. Prob. Swain, followed by Singed then Renekton (barely played those 2).
The irony is that I mostly bought champs which I liked thematically/visually, without testing them even once, and I liked them all, but I never bought the champs I got around testing a bunch (Katarina, Mordekaiser, Kog'Maw, all of whom I liked a lot, Kog because of the ult and W range though).

I'm actually pretty sure they did and that's why Elo became MMR and LP

He's always been top tier if not the most broken champ in the whole game

Right, I thought the whole reason for the elo / league changes was to confuse people so that they didn't really know where they stand so they could apply positive thinking. Ignorance is bliss and all.

Yeah I meant AP TF sry. From personal experience the only "troll" thing with TF since I started is that AD TF as been less and less seen, and more and more perceived as bad/troll, but I never saw AP TF being considered "troll".

There was a time when TF was considered a troll pick right after Riot nerfed the range of his ult.
|
My "favorites" progression starting from level 1 is probably Kennen --> Nidalee --> Janna --> Ashe --> TF --> Nami.
First game was Taric with Radiance toggle. ezgame ezlyfe

Is there a champ that wasn't considered bad for quite a while after any nerf?Like a lot of people even considered sona too weak after the hp reduction lol.
On topic my first champs were rather weird:
Jax>Cho>Urgot>J4.

My very first game was with Miss Fortune. First buy was Ashe because she was so cheap in IP. First love was Sona after trying her on a free week.

For me it was something like Cho > Jax > Vlad > Leona.

Speaking of first champs and stuff.
First champ I bought with IP was Ori. She was pretty OP at the time and I was only playing blind normals (draft didn't exist), so I went for it !
Then I discovered Udyr. And Pantheon.

First champ was Ashe, first IP was Vayne, first RP was Riven.
|
my firsts are ashe/annie/janna/riven.
of that group i feel comfortable playing riven and that's probably it. and my riven isn't even that good. i still like janna but i feel way more comfortable on sona should i play support.
i think too many jannas flash ult initiate, which i think is terrible.

When I first started playing this game literally the only person that ever played TF was jiji and no one took TF seriously until CLG started incorporated TF into their poke comp, but even then they ended up replacing TF with AP kog and no one saw TF again until the Asians started busting it out. I remember when I first started playing TF because jiji seemed to have a lot of fun with it and randoms in soloqueue would call me a troll or say that TF is just a garbage champ and things like that.
