As much as I'd like to play on a committed team and shoot for plat/diamond, between going to school full time and working 25 hours a week I don't have much time to just get on and game, much less organize a team and schedule etc. I'm sure it's not the only way to improve - I'm sitting like borderline plat and want to push myself over. I have a goal of getting to diamond by the end of this season, so whatever time I have I'm trying to put in to improving. Maybe I should actually download lol replay and post in 5hits analysis thread, haha. Yeah This has happened to me three times now. Found players willing to work hard to improve. Four of them. Then our schedules don't match up. Commiting lots of effort to trying to find time becomes too much of a chore after a few weeks, and one or more of us go inactive.

You still want deathcap and voidstaff and probably Zhonya's maybe Abyssal's at some point. A few APs like Liandry's Torment but most of them still like deathcap builds. Of champions that need mana the only ones that really build chalice/athenes anymore are Orianna and Lux (but you could probably go Tear on Lux if you wanted). Since the athenes buff it might be more viable than Tear on some other mana reliant AP mids. DFG isn't as great as it used to be but it's still pretty mandatory on AP assassins. AD assassins love BC. Builds basically stayed the same for them too although Warmogs is generally better than GA and against heavy AD teams Randuin's Omen is better than both for your defensive item. Support has a multitude of viable build choices but as a general rule you want sightstone and you shouldn't buy gp10 anymore (although after the change to philo stone hits that item will probably be good to buy). Locket and/or Bulwark are good items to get after your sightstone. There's really a multitude of support items that work in S3 and it's really dependent on what your jungler is building/what support you're playing. Bruisers have a lot of build options. Most bruisers go tanky first instead of damage first but this is still reliant on which bruiser you're playing. Attack speed centric bruisers like Jax or Irelia could probably go BotRK and Zephyr despite the BotRK nerfs (although once the Sheen buff hits and Trinity gets cheaper you'll probably be better off just going back to Trinity). AD scaling bruisers still prefer Bloodthirstier. Cooldown reliant bruisers (so lots of them) can get away with like Locket+Spirit Visage and delay damage items for later (although BC is still a good choice if you aren't gonna get Visage or something to CDR cap yourself). The biggest thing about S3 is that there are, imo, a lot of viable build paths which vary depending on your champion, your team comp, the enemy team comp, and the flow of the game. If the people you're playing with are good you'll probably see a Locket and a Bulwark in every game. Thanks! Odds are I still feed but I really appreciate the quick overview.

He's not bad by any means but he's not very resembling of most currently strong toplaners either. I learned Jax in season 3, I would hardly say I'm stuck in season 2. He's not seen much in competitive play, but there 2v1 lanes in pretty much every game competitive, which you're almost never going to see in solo que. Most of the currently popular competitive solo tops (Elise, Nidalee, Singed,) are probably going to receive several nerfs on top of the ones they've already received (at least I suspect Riot will do this). If I had to guess, Jax probably isn't going to be touched once this entire season. He's a good starting point if you want to get better at top lane. Stronger isn't necessarily better if you want to learn. I'd argue Garen is a stronger pick than Jax overall, but Garen is pretty much a brain dead champion, so I'd never recommend him if someone wants to improve their top lane skills because they're likely to pick up a lot of really bad habits.

If your answer is yes, then why? She's likely to get nerfed and she's not mechanically easy.

Or as he refered to on Reddit, Best Rengar NA? wink wink nudge nudge

rush a dragonball in a hard lane or necklace in an easy lane, or bruta in a medium lane build the appropriate dragonball item (locket or visage), max E most of the time, win lane through attrition and go all-in when you can use his Q-ult to get double or triple Q proc hardest lanes i've seen are diana and garen which are nigh unwinnable, everything else is pretty cake
