We don't even know what her new kit is like, it might be more interesting then her old kit. Everyone so quick to just assume the worst :p

I'm quite happy as is about the announcement by Scarizard that she's going to be a "support" in Riot's terms, and not in the players' term, the way is seemed to be for the past year.

It sort of is. She's a champion that scales off of cooldowns and AP so she needs lot of gold, but her CC isn't that great. She has great lane sustain. Also even with AP, it's hard to get off the full damage of her combo because you want to use her to shield/heal/slow people as well as do damage.

Meh, I feel Riot too fast with rework without even trying to balance. They haven't touched karma in forever, but rather than do some number balances, or try working with her fan count mechanics; they decided it's it's just easier to scrap what they have now, and re-work, (which btw ,usually means removing a lot of the charm out of the champ, and feels very boring for the most part).

They decided to do this a loooooooong time ago. They've been working on her rework for a long time. I love the way Karma is now, but I'll reserve judgement for when I see her new kit.

They planned twitch and eve rework too; for like a year and a half. doesn't mean they couldn't of spent some time on working out numbers before going to the nuclear option (remaking a character).

Although, if you really think a champ's kit is so bad that it needs a rework, you don't want to waste time pushing numbers around first.

Although eve, twitch, and xin were reworked because it was impossible to put their old kits in a state where they would be viable at top levels while not being extraordinarily unpleasant to play against at low levels. Karma is different - as far as I can tell, she's being reworked solely because her kit is "boring". Along the way, they probably decided to do the visual / thematic / boob upgrade as well.

The problem I have with it is that Riot showed no effort to try and give the champs a chance; before going to the drawing board.
Yes, eve, twitch, xin, kat, taric, maybe needed to be completely overhauled; maybe they didn't (i'd argue taric and kat didn't really need rework), but Riot for the most part didn't even bother trying with eve, and twitch. I have no issue with Riot reworking champs completely if they do a good job. I think they did a good job with all their previous reworks.

I really like Karma right now as both a mid/top laner and in a apc/support kill lane as the apc. She is a really fun champion to play and can be effective when utilized properly but there is no denying that she is ultimately a limited champ. I am looking forward to the changes Riot made to her personally. From the information given out so far it looks like the play style will remain relatively similar as an apc with some support utility similar to Orianna or Lux. I do wish the character model had remained closer to the original however, and I am sad that she no longer has her fans. I really don't understand why anyone has any complaints about Riot reworking a champion that clearly needed some help.

Wait what.

Are you saying Eve and Kat did not need a rework? That is so untrue.

Also I think AP Karma mid has some problems. At the end of the day, if I want to play a champion with strong shield and strong lane shove, there are Orianna, Janna, Morgana, Lux, and Lulu to choose from. AP Karma's range, dependence on mantra charges, lack of ult, and lack of CC makes her a very poor choice.

Also I don't think you can solve this problem by adjusting her numerical values. Her design is simply fundamentally flawed.

I never said that, I said taric and kat didn't need it. What I was saying, was Riot never bothered trying to work with her numbers after removing her out-of-stealth stun. EFFORT. EFFORT, none was exhibited.

If it's a question of poor design, then I fail to see how tweaking numbers will do anything. Making a champion better doesn't always mean making him numerically stronger. Also, need is not really the right way to look at it IMO. I personally think it's more of a question of whether or not a remake can enhance the gameplay to a state significantly superior to the previous, all while better realizing the original vision for the champ. In the cases of twitch, Kayle and Kat, I think they did a phenomenal job in that respect.

Taric's changes were basically number changes. The only non-numerical change to Taric was his passive. Essentially, Taric's armor aura was too strong (it was never adjusted even though S3 made armor a lot more expensive), so they made his W % based and scales with his armor.

If you want to argue that Taric's old passive was better, feel free. But IMO the mana regen is minor.

The existence of weak champions doesn't actually hurt the game, like how the existence of overpowered champions does. There are a lot of champions that they should probably be pushing numbers around for but aren't. On the other hand, they have been passing through the weak champions slowly and giving them numbers adjustments if they don't need full kit reworks -- see Nasus for example

Also, I'm fairly convinced all three people who main Karma do so for hipster reasons and not because they find Karma's design especially compelling in some way.

Too old for you?
That taric was such an awesome taric; too bad roaming meta "op'd" during that time. I bet old taric would be super baller in s3.

I dunno, I only got to play with him for a little bit, and that was my pre-30 days, so I wouldn't really be able to comment on his "god" status in reference to level of play now-a-days. But I definitely remember being a FABULOUS GOD while playing taric (also new chalice would be beyond broken on old-school taric imo).

Old Taric made current Swain look like a pussy old birdman with a cane. Old Taric was a glorious god of war who strode across the battlefield dealing death with his mighty hammer.

yea they took so much damage off his W and E to make room for his new ult. Old taric was much stronger alone as he still had the same burst and then the infinite healing ultimate. Now instead he gives the AP/AD and has been touched up a little wiht cooldowns and such
