Oh, about Trynda, which summoners would you guys run on him ? I tried quite a few things, I still hesitate atm. Barrier is quite strong for the post-ult nuking that will go down most of the time !

I'm a big fan of ghost/cleanse, but you can really go for any mixture of heal/ignite/barrier/ghost/cleanse/tp. Don't even need ghost/flash if you're into that sort of thing

I wonder how the Yi changes will affect him. Right now (as AP) he just feels like such a shitty champ. It's not that he's unstoppable in any way, but he's just so dumb to play; alfa-strike and meditate are both fairly no-brain skills and I find it incredibly boring to play or play against.
I'm a man of my word, and that word is "unreliable".

Went through the offical LCS rulebook and found some interesting things:

9.5 Awarded Game Victory
In the event of a technical difficulty which leads LCS officials to declare a restart, the
LCS may instead award a game victory to a team. If a game has been played for
more than 20 minutes, the LCS, in its sole discretion, may determine that a team
cannot avoid defeat to a degree of reasonable certainty. Additionally, the following
criteria may also be used to award victory:
9.5.1 Gold Differential. The difference in gold is more than 10,000.
9.5.2 Kill Differential. The difference in kills is more than 15.
9.5.3 Remaining Turret Differential. The difference in remaining turrets is
more than 7.


I understand such criteria probably been available previously but it's the first time I've actually seen them stated so clearly. 15 kill difference really seems a bit shaky as a "victory condition". I guess they'd take gold/tower situation into consideration as well, not just "HERP DERP they are 15 kills ahead, no reason to restart!"

The whole Player Conduct chapter (10) is a bit...american. You're not allowed to advertise pornographic products? Really? 2013 and we've still not moved past cursing and porn as the things that ruins children?

I think what's shitty for AP champs currently is the popularity of health stacking while AP scaling is much weaker than AD scaling (and less slot-efficient), and the caster nature that makes them burst-reliant (and thus hurts their late game scaling when more and more stuff happens during their 5s spell downtime). It's less visible for AD casters because they still "scale" through autoattacks.
Cant take LMS hipsters serious.

Except in chess its a 1v1. In LoL it's a 5v5 and a single person is at the mercy of 4 other people.


The other key thing about chess is there's only one role. There are a number of skills involved, but you practice all of them every game. It's not just the team aspect, but the fact that unless you're extremely adamant or well known you don't always get to practice the same role.

Plus on top of all that you have champion picks, item builds, and other factors that make LoL a much more variable game than Chess. It doesn't make Elo worthless, it just makes it harder to say what it's measuring.

Since the measure still converges to what we are looking for it means its exactly as easy to say what its measuring. Its just that, since it takes longer to converge our measure is initially less accurate (the accuracy of the final guess depends more on how much you're willing to let ratings change and is based more on that parameter than the convergence)

In English. Games with more players provide less information about the skill of an individual player so when we initially attempt to develop a order of players it takes longer to do so, once we have gotten there however, there isn't a difference in the accuracy between a 5 person team game or a 1 person team game.

Most of the variation that we see in ELO comes from the fact that we want our order to be able to update when people get better(or worse) and since we don't know whether or not a win or loss was random or because you had actually gotten worse we have to treat if its providing new information to what your skill is.

What this means is that it is a function of all rating systems that final accuracy is determined by the speed of convergence which is limited by the information contained in the game and a user determined parameter for how much we want to allow ratings to move.

IIRC, for games in which we only have information on who won and who lost the Elo heuristic is efficient (I.E. in order to make a system which converged faster you would have to reduce the amount of skill movement you allow)

I'm never quite sure what's best as a 2nd damage item for Corki. Last Whisper is situationally good, IE is pretty good but expensive, Bloodthirster is pretty bad given the weak interaction with Trinity, Zeal items feel weird when you already have Trinity.

There's some anti-synergy with Black Cleaver because flat reduction (Gatling Gun) is applied before percentage, but GG is pretty good for stacking it so it's probably decent.

I usually go Trinity Warmogs Infinity and the game is won or lost before I get another item.


If you're going for a second damage item, LW is probably your best bet. I am not sure specifically what the gold efficient break point is for this particular setup but I am willing to bet that LW gives you both the best damage against all targets, even targets which don't have much armor, for the gold. In addition since it doesn't require a BF sword and so is easy to build into in situations where you don't get the sudden influx which lets you skip to IE.

I think for a long time Riot was being hands off on tweaking him while they waited for how AP yi turned out. I always thought AP yi was dumb and never won a game with one on my team so I'm glad it got hit. This will probably be a sign of tweaks in the future to make more traditional(ad) builds better.
