Wow, people need to stop dreaming about their favorite NA teams really. There is no way Elementz is better than krepo. Compare what is comparable.

Well I suppose I'm biased but I'd recommend LoLTool. As a bonus, if you have any problems with it or any feature requests you can simply ask me here, since I made it

noct/mumu are perfectly fine, consider rounding out your roster in the other areas first. TF/Eve/orianna are rather popular mid, ezreal/caitlyn bottom and sona is also very popular despite her inherent squishiness in lane.

Edit:: Khazix bandwagon is fine as well but he's going to get nerfed in the near future, considering how hard-hitting riot has been towards the stronger champions (see: diana, rengar), don't be surprised if his winrate plummets.

here are my observations: mid assassins like kha and panth are more frequently picked. Safe pushers are still good like ori and aniv, but id say karth to a lesser extent if you want global presence you get panth or tf since their laneing is not as abyssmal as karth's against a lot of opponents. Top is interesting because innate sustain plays a bit less of a role and ganking is harder as well, generally happens later. This means you can play more stuff top atm and it's not that counterpickish. The ganks happen when ppl dominate too hard and overextend and not at random early times to snowball a lane. Bot is also interesting because corki, graves, ez is still good but not what you have to pick everytime. I've seen more caits lately esp with zyra/sona/lulu. Ppl are confident with poking and pushing again. Generally the koreans showed the world that leaving turrets alive was a stupid tactic so everyone pushes their turret asap now.

What are peoples' thoughts on the map imbalance in competitive play? Looking at the stats from the NA LCS qualifiers, the thing that stands out to me is the Blue/Purple imbalance. 65%/35% passes the point of "acceptable" to "troublesome".

What would people think of swapping blue side/purple side 1st pick? I know traditionally, Chinese DotA tournaments tend to give Sentinel Side (bottom side of the map) first pick because the map is generally considered to favor Scourge. LoL matches this by giving Blue team first pick, but since the map imbalance favors Blue in LoL, the most sensible choice seems like it would be to give the draft advantage to the Purple side.

Watching Dyrus' stream, he seems to be a sad panda atm.

Also last game they had a KhaZix on the other team get two quadra's in a row, pretty wild. Seems he is in desperate need of nerfs.

I would like it for the side/1st pick to be separate like the choices for a coin flip like soccer. You can either choose a side or first pick.

Not a bad idea TBH. Right now, the only things you HAVE to lastpick in competitive play are either things that give away what you're doing(such as the nocturne+amumu in OGN), or extremely weak laners that need to be picked into good matchups. Bot lane for the most part in competitive play has been figured out. If your lane phase is too much weaker you swap it to a 2v1 for the duration of early game. Junglers are fairly matchup independant due to better collapse and warding provided that your laners are not too weak. So that leaves mid and top, both of which have safe picks that won't die too hard in any matchup.

That's probably a more stable overall solution (robust to eventual changes in how drafting works/map reworks), but also seems like it would require more immediate change to affect the client interface (there'd need to be a way to "coin-flip" in game for administering online tournaments, particularly in something like Go4LoL where not every stage of the tournament is directly oversought by an admin).

I think that the number is incredibly suspect when teams are seeded and the higher seeded team get blue twice.

EDIT: More on topic, one thing I noticed in the qualifier was first pick acting as a 4th ban. In Motion Gaming vs. One Trick Ponies, MG banned LeBlanc/Kat/Eve and first picked Lee Sin, the favorite jungle of 1TP's jungler and a good counter to their overall strategy. They pulled the series level in that game. Game 3, they stayed with the same bans and let 1TP have Lee jungle and got obliterated by it. So yeah, I think had MG had the pick advantage twice they would have had a much better shot.

It's just an anecdote, and it doesn't really comprise much I'd be comfortable discussing systematically, though.

I think ranked 5s already randomizes side/1st pick so the only issue would be for custom games. Maybe add in an extra option under tournament draft to set side blue/purple 1st pick?

It's not the only statistic supporting it though.

Consider the 11 Bo2s that went 1-1 in OGN groupstage. 8 of them blue team won both games, and in only 3 of them did purple team win both games.

I have a feeling that this stats are similiar to the ogn stats but I did not count it.

Ditto. I spent a good 5 hours doing way too much customization one day.
