Exactly, I think the problem is some people area already becoming far to reliant for sightstone for all of their warding needs. I've had supports who refused to buy wards aside from sightstone. It should supplement support wards, not replace them. | ||

You could probably invest heavily into flask/stone/ruby stone as the opening, but I feel like it is too restrictive and you're actually quite weak in lane as a lot of upfront gold is invested into future wards. A stronger opening would be flask + wards + pots into wards + real item (kages, ruby, dshield) into sightstone/ruby sightstone. It seems like a much better midgame item after you've already got some sustain going than for ensuring lane safety. edit: in response to some of the above, rushing sightstone is bad because its really hard to purchase more wards in addition to sightstone since your income actually much better over time due to passive gp10 buff. so buying more wards over time ends up being more affordable even though it is less gold efficient in S2, gp10 was much more valuable because passive gp10 was lower and thus it made a more appreciable difference in income. gp10 is less valuable, and gp10 in terms of wards only is even less valuable | ||
