Exactly, no one even cares to practice for blind pick because it's only in OGN only in the last game if it happens to go to that. No one has any idea how to deal with it. I'm not saying picking 5 champions from a pool without any limitation or any interference from your opponents is skilless, but I would argue to death it is much less skill-ly than draft.
Meh, compare the difference in comps, if you weren't told it was blind pickand they picked 1 corki instead of 2 ezraels you'd be like "oh, weird bans this game" and nothing else.
(corki and ezrael are similar enough everyone picks em for similar reason)

Didn't get to watch these games (that's why I am commenting just on blind pick in general, not this one specific game), but given that bans are like third of the draft, "weird bans this game" and shrugging it off just seems so.. strange? idk. VoDs don't work, what were the picks/bans? (not in this OP either)
Korean communities are cautious because of how fragile E-sports scene in Korea is right now. If this "rumor" turned out to be true, it'd be the end of E-sports in Korea without fail. It doesn't help that Azubu's background has been very shady...
It's good they are cautious but there's a limit that if you cross it's paranoia. Azubu is the main sponsor of the OGN LoL tournaments, they sponsor the 2 most successful Korean teams and Violet in SC2. I don't think their involvement is SO BIG that if they had to pull out the Korean eSports scene would die.
E-sports in Korea will be severely diminished and will eventually die if the rumor is true. I don't think you really understand anything about how E-sports in Korea works. Let's say the rumor is true. In the case that the rumor is true, the fact that OGN, the most popular gaming channel in Korea and the primary contributor to the growth of E-sports in Korea, let a relatively unknown company (Azubu) that turned out to be just a dummy corporation used for money laundering sponsor two of their tournaments will be a big blow to the integrity of OGN and the legitimacy of E-sports in Korea. Just in case you also didn't know about a certain Ministry of Gender Equality threatening to shut down E-sports already in Korea, if the rumor turned out to be true, it will certainly happen so damn right Koreans are going to be cautious.
Where did azubu come from? Because their forums are pretty much a graveyard the last time I visited them (http://azubu.com/). Are they just a VC or are they actually making money somehow?
Seems really small. But has some interesting people. Also the directors is also part of these companies:
Korea Investment & Securities Co., Ltd , Hyundai Securities.Co.,Ltd
I never heard of them before they started sponsoring the first OGN lol tournament. Now they already picked up 2 lol teams and violet so they must be doing really well. Really interesting stuff.
Are you really so naive to think that you here on the internet are discovering a money launders organization? Do you really think these people are so dumb that looking around like that will find you anything?
If they were as stupid as you seem to imply surely someone whos actual job this is with the resources of a countries police force behind them would have found them out years ago?
The arrogance of internet wizkids really is something.

I thought Azubu was a German Company.
Nope. Their servers are situated in Korea and the company itself was created with money from Korea.

From what I gathered, there's a consensus among Korean gaming communities that Azubu is merely a dummy corporation. The most popular "rumor" that is going around in the communities is that a unknown Korean who's run into "issues" in financial investments in stocks created Azubu for the purpose of money laundering and make it look like Azubu is investing in E-sports. It seems that any topics regarding this issue in popular korean websites such as naver and daum are shut down immediately as soon as they pop up. Many in the communities are asking for answers but with Azubu threatening to use legal powers to stop these so-called "rumors", people are hesitant to pursue the issue.
There you go. Also, many are linking the unknown Korean to one named Kim Suk Ki who is apparently on the interpol's wanted person list for the above mentioned "issues" in financial investments.
There are news articles (like this one at Gamechosun) that talk about the rumors spreading around the internet that Azubu is a ghost company, but there is no solid evidence found anywhere currently that can pin them as such.
I personally think that Azubu would've been investigated by now if the company was indeed a ghost. Just like the match-fixing scandal, I say wait until the evidences surface, if there are any.
Does somebody have all the picks and bans? Want to update the op.

Great format. Really fair and good for viewers. All teams will be so so focused on qualifying since even being in the top 12 of a 2mil prize pool means a ton of money. Probably finishing last on s2 finals will be more money than winning the OGN summer tourney.

So i just looked up Azubu's Seoul headquarter's address on google maps: 891-46, Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, 135-280, Korea
Unless I did something wrong, it points to an empty construction site next to gomtv. Something is definitely fishy about this company.

The pictures from google are from 2009 on naver the pictures are from 2010 and the building is nearly finished. I would guess two years later the building should be done. And before Azubu became Azubu in Korea it was called gamebook.

I can inform you that the azubu offices are pretty chill with a nice couch and atleast 2 vending machines. rest of the office pretty boring.
The whole Azubu thing is really weird. Who knows if there are facts to the claims or not, but to say that a company is taking legal action for netizens slandering their brand/name is a support for the rumors is really odd as well. Looking at it from a company perspective, if people are going to go around slandering a company's name, why wouldn't they threaten legal action? It's just defending their brand. I'd be surprised if any sort of company attempting to create a brand wouldn't go that far.

Their building is right next to the GOMTV office, I often see the Azubu guys on the street during lunch time, nothing fishy about that ,)
