Of Course, MLG opened the eyes of a lot of western league fans and showed that korean teams are at least even if not way more ahead of western teams and they need to get their shit together to keep up with them. Teams like clg or Dig who had the korean experience during the first season of OGN probably knew it way earlier but the foreign scene probably assumed that "they are not that good or they wont overtake anytime soon" is true since TSM were always vocal about that.
ANd just like in sc2 I like to root for the best plays not the nationality but inside I really hope that the foreign scene can keep up with the koreans as long as possible, unlike in sc2.

I put all my hope in the EU scene, but the main problem i think with the western teams is the PRIDE OF THEIR PLAYERS, all KR teams have a coach who has autority and can frankly tell the problems. A shitlot of teams with rly good players cant improve because of that (fnatic, sk, mill, aaa, clg)
CLG.NA vs Azubu Frost was truly a blast to see live, together with Vlanitak^^ Worth standing in line 3 hours for haha. Too bad I had to go quite fast, but oh well. Made a nice bet with Vlani for 5000 won & a 500 word blog on how awesome the other is (:D), which I won since every brood war player knows that you should always bet on the Koreans hah. Lazy Americans. HotshotGG truly sucked giant balls in this match.
Nope, I am (sadly) already in Hong Kong again. Only had a few days in Korea Soon back to Holland. GL HF though. Surely Vlanitak is going, maybe CaucasianAsian, Loco.. etc :D

It was a beatifull Friday morning when my friend and I decided to meet up with the most lovely Beyonder and co for the OGN Champions summer Quartefinals between Azubu Frost and CLG.NA. Upon meeting the good sir I became extacit as he was ever as awesome as the rumours had it, wearing a white and checker patterened shirt that really made him look like a model compared to the Koreans standing around him. I had heard the stories of his epic Brood War days and lo and behold I was now standing in the shadow of the legend himself. Surely I must have been blessed that day. We ended up being pretty early in the line and after a few translation helps and communication errors figured out that we would have to stand in line for another 3 hours to get our tickets to enter the stadium. I tried helplessly to find some way to make sure that this demi-god of a Man did not have to stand in line for that long, trying to seek out anyone I have previously met at the events. In the end they were not there, I assume that they would not be able to lay their glance upon this demi-god without melting. When we finally got our tickets his loyal friends and fellow demi-gods were hungry so we went to a korean returant to consume food not worthy. His appetite was as a God and the Korean food stood no chance against him all consumed in short time.
During this time he told me of old war stories such as WCG Holland and the old brood war days, aswell his Warcraft 3 and finally League of Legends awesomness, F Lord might have 3k ELO but this demi-god has over 8000 ELO irl. His awesomeness is truly without measure. As we entered the stadium we were met by all the Koreans ready to watch their home country defend themselves from a grusome North American invasion. After some thought Beyonder locked eyes with every single one of the Frost players only to channel a bit of his demi-god powers into them. They were truly blessed that day and consumed the North Americans in a matter of 2 games. Chauster might be the Avatar, channeling generations of teachings from masters long gone as well as his own resurrections into every single role on his team, but not even that power could stop the power that the Mighty Beyonder had bestood upon the Koreans. After the match Beyonder told us he had to depart, there was woman in need he had to help, and the room begged him to stay but alas..
After they left the sense of power dwindled from the Koreans and the longer they got into their interview the more they started believing this was their own causing and they could take on God himself, Froggen the Almighty. So strong was the power of Beyonder that the North Americans were invited to join a banquet with the Super Junior, unfortunatly having to decline this offer for another time as they were tired and had other duties to attend.
Honestly I was really surprised CLG did not take that, they have played well against Frost ever since last season doing decently once they started practicing properly. Regardless of their win or loss though I feel that they have improved a lot and we will see a super strong CLG for NA regionals and Season 2 finals (yes I do assume CLG.prime will make it through regional, anything else would be an upset of proportions).
Looking forward to this Fridays Semifinals as it might decide what the first team from Korea will in Season 2 finals. A lot of people would assume that Blaze would go and win this easily, but you never know with frost, sometimes they stomp sometimes they play meh. Regardless who ever wins this gets a good chunk of money and a seed to the Season 2 finals in L.A.
And the next semi finals will be interesting as well, will we see the comeback of Maknoon after a few meh performances tournament wise. His team is looking really good atm, they did knock out Startale (the cycle of Loco and maknoon continues) and while they might have a hard time against CLG.eu they could potentially take down Frost (assuming here that Blaze beats them, only assumptions but I would bet money on it) in a 3rd place match and that would secure them a seed to the Season 2 finals.
EDIT: If anyone wants to meet up let me know, maybe if we are enough people down here we could do a TL meetup pre or post game or something along those lines, ofc always willing to meet with other TLers peace gonna explode spaceships
Thank you for all the trouble and all the help. And of course this epic piece of text^^ Spend the 5000 Won on some soju, it is well deserved kind soldier ;-)
Seeing as EU regionals is going on today aswell Iam not sure how many will watch this. Anywyas bumping for those interested. Beaides this is the korean regionals. Who ever wins this is guaranteed a spot in the season 2 championship in LA in a few months. Will Blaze continue to dominated? Will the ogn studio collapse due to to many spectators? Or will frost beat their sister team in an upset not seen since the finals of last season? Starts earlier today aswell in just over 2 hours.
As fate decided its time again that the two major elements from LoL meet each other again. While their last meeting was an easy victory for fire but how will it end this time? Can ice overcome his big brother, who dominated the last season and blazed through his group(höhöhö). Slipped ice on their first match(you get it? slipped..ice höhöhö) and showed if you can dictate the game they have a trouble to compete. Therefore I predict that Blaze will remain superior and will turn again into the sun that will shine troughout the tournament. Till they meet the unknown warriors from the west with a leader called Froggen. This time ikarus wont die when he flys to the sun!
totally forgot it's today, gonna watch this since itsa more interesting thatn watching SK vs acer and it should be perfect timing to finish right when clg.eu plays.
