MiG B playing better than MiG A were playing 8 months ago on NA, korean training too op agree d its sick.. korea is atm becoming #1 in LoL too, sad to see west go down Europe and NA is still ahead of them easily. CLG had a pretty bad comp from the beginning and they aren't really good at forcing early game advantages to make up for their mediocre lategame. This is basically what they did in the first game of the group stages and I have no idea why they have to give themselves that disadvantage. In terms of skill level there are mabe 3 teams in Asia that I have seen that have a chance against the top 10 teams of EU/NA. And I dont think they are as good as M5 or CLG.eu or an in form CLG.na Not yet, I agree, but the fact that one country can have this many top teams is pretty scary. This is MiG's B team after all taking down a team that's top 3 in NA. And if you listened to CLG's blogs you'd hear that they did incredibly bad in scrims until they adjusted, and this was leading up to IPL 4. They've vouched for the korean teams and I'll believe them since I think CLG is one of the best teams in scrims.

oh come one zenon. "cc" as an abbreviation for crowd control is something anyone who every played a computer game/console game for more than a few hours should know. and most of the western viewers HAVE a gaming background or else how would they know about this tournament happening right now.

I don't mind them explaining the basics of the game, that's great. But it's really lame to hear the korean commentators in the background shouting and getting excited while the english commentators kind of just talk. During the fight where Hotshot flanked Urgot and almost turned the game around for CLG all we got was "and here hotshot gets a kill"

Considering the amount of viewers on LoL streams daily, i find it hard to believe that so many people watching this event (on the english stream, korean stream is another thing) are inexperienced enough to not grasp concepts like crowd control. I'd rather believe that most viewers are familiar with LoL in general, and watch streams of events like this to observe and learn the finer points of pro-level play - where decent, knowledgeable commentators are a must.
If the stream was promoted/advertised by Riot inside the client, attracting a more casual group of players (like during events involving American and/or European teams -> IEM, IPL), your comment holds true - but currently, OGN is not such an event.

During the fight where Hotshot flanked Urgot and almost turned the game around for CLG all we got was "and here hotshot gets a kill" Korea has a different system. There, the "cool" guys who are professional performing artists are the commentators, so they have great voice intonation and tone for commentating. In the western system its just regular "nerds" who know a lot about the game commentating, nothing wrong with that, but its why they cant reach the excitement of koreans.

CLG got stomped really hard - got crushed botlane, lost every dragon and every teamfight mostly through individual mistakes

but now you know. and my point was that the large majority currently watching the ogn tournament HAVE a gaming background. if this was ipl or some other huge event with a link in the client + huge advertisements i would totally accept a more "casual friendly" style of commentary. but right now ogn is a tournament for nerds who watch lol more than 2 days a week.

I think we might see an urgot ban to force a standard bottom lane with AD vs AD. Doublelift seems to have trouble farming against an urgot soraka lane =/

Why is locodoco's english so gud. Grew up in America?

Does jiji have his hands down Vicious' pants?
CLG still going 2-1 this pretty handily, still the better team.

This. Also most casual LoL players probably come from WoW/some MMORPG where they must know what CC is.
Whole point is that dumbed down casts=zzzzzzzzzzzzz, especially for such a niche event at an awkward time.

I HAD a gaming background and it took me a while to find out. C- on ICCUP and before then I played a bunch of consoles. If LoL was big when I was just starting I would have definitely watched a tournament to try to see what the game is about but I would have no idea what the commentators meant.
