He does well vs. 80% of mid mages. Not good at top. Snowballs really, really hard (1 kill and the lane is won) Ganks top and bot really easily. An idea pubstomper at low elo.

His ganking and teamfight are absurd, his pushing/farming powers are pretty good. His big downside counterjungling/getting counterjungled. If someone comes in to steal my stuff and fight me, I'm usually better off just roaming and ganking than trying to fight back. His damage is pretty low if you're building tank (which you should be, given his kit and role), so trying to 1v1 that Shy/Jax/GP/LS that comes to take your Red or whatever does not end up very well.
But like I said, using his CC just makes or breaks him. Pre-6, it's pretty good (displacement-snare-slow), post-6, it's downright lethal. Adding in that knock-up and stun means whoever you tag with your ult is dead unless they blow all summoners and cooldowns.
His ult is a carry-killer in teamfights. If you can hit the entire team with the knock-up, great! If not, you still secure the kill on that Cait/whatever and turn the tide in your favor.
I've been doing Regrowth-Boots-Philo-HoG-Aegis-(FoN/FH/Shurelia)-situational as a usual build. I'd like Abyssal over FoN at times for a bit more damage, but the MS is just too necessary on his slow ass.

Of course he's good. Look at his kit. It doesn't matter how much damage he does, his level of disruption is just insane.
I don't know how good he'll be for solo q, but once people figure him out, he will do very well in arranged comps. Sejuani is the same way.

i actually think wukong should be played mid as well for similar reasons. At least vs certain matchups that is. His ganks are fast and deadly in any case.

Nautilus is the first champ I have had to activly cancel the attack animation on in order to get last hits. coz that animation is hella long

i used to not be a fan of gman bob but props to him for still being able to draw in thousands of viewers when there are at least 10 pros streaming at all times an example of doing something very right

I dunno, I go 0-21-9 with MS quints, so his speed isn't that bad (329 without boots). I would probably get Kindlegem or Glacial Shroud right after HoG, to get that bit of CDR that I feel I need to keep my jungling speed after handing over the blue buff.
The way his Q and R work is great. I'm wondering about, against a good peeling team, trying to flank to Q the tank/initiator away from his backline (and get closer), flash over him to get even closer and then ult the farthest possible enemy/squishy. Obviously it's not as good as Qing a squishy and ulting another when they're all bunched, but added with his passive and E I think maneuvers like that could work to split teams or keep a bruiser/peeler from helping his carries/diving yours while you trod towards the core of the fight.

Riot always does this when a spell can it several times (cf. Ahri and Nautilus). It's to avoid having a spell too biaised toward 1v1 (okayish then, but then weak on multitargets, or 0K in AoE but overpowered on single target). That's not entirely true, Ryzes W and Brands do not have diminishing dmg on further hits, although they do have other limiting factors (mainly the need for a second bounce target close by). I guess we can't say if the damage decrease is needed until knowing exactly how the skill 'strikes random champions'. Unless the wording is just purposefully confusing, it's Omnislash from Dota. You bounce on the targets face 3/6/9(not sure what Riot will make their numbers) times if they're the only target available, and they die. Finding a lvl 11+ Jugg with his ult up while alone is essentially death, you made a mistake and you get punished for it. If he uses it while you are in a pile of 12 creeps, you may actually only get hit once. I'll wait to see numbers on it before flipping out further, but it seems awfully arbitrary to weaken it's 1v1 potential and turn it into a psuedo aoe, when there are plenty of champions who have VERY punishing 'I caught you wandering alone' kits(and on the flip side, champs who will rape your whole team if you clump as 5). So i guess the real question is : Will it stack with Tiamat the same way Omnislash stacks with BF? Fun memories right there.. If it does, I will immediately revoke my criticism of the ability, and play Tiamat Fiora every game for the rest of my LoL life(which admittedly is non-existent right now, but I keep my tabs on it to see if something makes me want to play again). Tiamat Shyv/Twitch are crying in a corner forgotten and alone. They have way more lulz potential than Fiora ever will. It's quite possible Fiona ulti will work something like Kennen ulti to gimp some of the 1v1.
It's not 'quite possible,' it is stated right there in the text that it will work that way(well, not the limited to 3 hits part, but the reduced damage per hit in place of hit). It both reduces it's effectiveness in 1v1, and also reduces the chances of RNG when used in a multiple target scenario(Kennen's ult even has a psuedo-rng mechanic where it preferentially targets enemies who don't have a mark already to spread them out more evenly).
Again, numbers aren't available yet so we'll see how strong it could still be(extreme hypothetical: it's 300 damage a hit for 4/5/6 hits, even having hits after the first reduced by 50% would still be obscene damage in a 1v1, and a potentially 1k+ damage aoe to 3+ targets), but they've set it up to be really disappointing, like a glorified alpha strike.

Which junglers (if any) can you get away with substituting Exhaust (or Ignite, I guess) for Flash? Giving it a go on Shen at the moment, mixed results.
|
I do it on Trundle. MS boost + tenacity on his W, and slow + terrain block on E is rather awesome to flee. You can get caught, but they'll probably need several cc for this (or something obnoxious like GP with red buff to parrrley you to keep the slow on while they strugle with E).

Definitely viable on Lee Sin. I jungle him with smite/exhaust all the time.
Just make sure you have a ward on you so you can W to safety when you have to.

I see it on Lee, Shyv, Shen, Nocturne.

Like pointing out what he's thinking, what's going on, mistakes, and so on. He also has personality.

I find his anchor smash animation really funny so sometimes i don't bother canceling.
But you can cancel the animation really early which is awesome(I think the damage comes out right after he starts the swing )

1) His early game feels pretty ridiculous. His W shields for a ton and he has basically infinite CC. Also, excellent mobility from his Q. Early game ganks he felt unkillable and you basically couldn't move.
2) I see him sort of like a better Sejuani. He doesn't feel very viable in solo queue because his damage doesn't scale well. The one I played the game opened something like 6/0/4, then lost the game because his team wasn't very coordinated. I think he'd be really solid in arranged teams where people are good/coordinated enough to use his infinite CC to pick off players.

Best to just Q before E.

Best to just Q before E. Nah, you'd miss out on a free auto. Didn't they change it so that all champions attempt to AA directly after a gapcloser? I'm 99% sure that applies for the monkey aswell. Sure, later on, it's not a big deal, but I'd argue the difference between having that AA or not having it can be pretty detrimental early game.

Anyone else playing Naut (or theorycrafters), what do you think of RoA as an early item, maybe building Ruby into that instead of HoG? The passive on Cata might give a bit more jungle sustain (which is nice), and of course the health will scale into his shield silly later on. I saw a couple people recommend it, but I hadn't really considered it before now. I could see it being decent as your only health item and then allowing you to focus on resists elsewhere, but I'm not entirely sure.
